Just like all the rioters trashing private poverty and toppling the statues of abolitionists.
2 different things. You quoted sales numbers. I joked about attendance numbers. You can sell out and still have crappy attendance. Sympathy ticket sales are a thing.

She contributes more of substance to the world that people who work in finance.
My 401k disagrees with your statement.
Deer Sue Bird,
Just shut up and dribble.

I can't really sympathize with anyone of either sex who complains about not getting paid enough. You are playing a game. Sure it's true that a select few athletes make really good money but they are the exception rather than the norm. More power to you if you can make money on your hobby but you aren't entitled to it.
Agreed. Nobody who gets to make a living putting a ball in circle should be nothing but grateful. And for female athletes to complain that they don't make as much money, despite being less athletic and exciting to watch, as their male counterparts is the ultimate display of entitlement.

The plain fact of the matter is those WNBA women are butte ugly. Sad, but true. And all the virtue signaling in the world can't change that fact.
Hard to argue with this. Unfortunately, those more attractive athletes play soccer. What they DO have in common is they get exactly what they deserve, pay wise. So do NBA players. Generate more viewers and ad revenue will go up. Flex Seal cannot afford NBA ad space. Oh, both groups are Democrats. They have that in common, too.

If 89% of the WNBA players are gay what are the showers like after games? Is everyone just frollicking?
First of all, there were many years that NBA players didn’t make that much money that took time to grow to where it is today. NFL players In the early years had to work a second job.
Secondly, what is she talking about, what being cute gotta do with sport, she is victimizing herself.
Thirdly, while WNBA players aren’t the most attractive(which is fine, it’s about the sport), Sue bird is fine and could get that hardwood feels me
I agree. I’ve never heard of her since I don’t follow the WNBA, but she is pretty. I have tried to watch a few games, and a decent high school boys team could beat them. They are just not that good.
Tennis and soccer do have some cute players of all colors, and as a middle aged man I admit it helps the game.
It goes both ways. Women liked Jordan. Obviously the Kardashians enjoy the NBA. Women liked David Beckham and Christiano Ronaldo.
Sex sells, always has.

True, my next door neighbor an early NY Knick member quit playing in the NBA to go into teaching. But the WNBA has been around for 20 years.

HS boys bball is actually exciting to watch. The WNBA is like watching boys basketball played underwater.
I suspect you haven't actually watched any WNBA games.
Sue is correct.
Tuned into a WNBA game and thought I stumbled across a Godzilla vs Mothra marathon!

The WNBA also is a money-loser. The only reason they stay solvent is that they are subsidized by the NBA.
Honestly, I wouldn't be complaining if I was making mid-six figures playing basketball in a league nobody watches that's been losing money for 22 years.
Their attendance numbers are "up" but who knows if that means tickets sold, distributed and/or actual tickets collected at the gate. It's a niche...barely makes a ripple in sports landscape, no matter how much they think them matter or ESPN hypes it.
Even the numbers below are fake. Like for example, the Phoenix Mercury play at Talking Stick Arena, which normal capacity for Suns games is just shy of 18,500. According to the chart below, they drew 105% of capacity..but that is completely wrong, because they reduced seating capacity to 10,000 for WNBA games.
When over half the teams in your league draw less than 6,000 people a game, that's not a good sign.
Which league is in overall better financial health and basic public popularity, WNBA or MLS?
Most male athletes aren't particularly handsome, but they seem to do well despite their physical attractiveness.

Is that a serious question? I find it hard to believe someone would actually be that out of touch.
Ditto that, of course it's meant rhetorically.
