So I recently filled out the recruitment profile on Haverford's webpage. The team dynamics and training philosophy, and not to mention the coach himself, are extremely reputable. I received a handwritten letter a couple of days later, which I was pretty surprised and flattered by considering I almost never get personal letters from any sort of institution. Tbh I'm not even that great--I've run 4:55, 17:23 and 10:29. My grades are top-notch though. So is it realistic to gauge interest from this letter or does he do this for everyone? If so, that's a lot of letters to write. Why not just email like all the other coaches? And what are the "normal" recruiting standards for D3 schools like Haverford?
