This man's disconnect with reality is off the charts. He has scared much of the country to death and done great harm over a virus no worse than the flu and is actually less concerning to a huge portion of the population. Why Trump did not fire him is beyond me.
Fauci overreacted. He knows he overreacted. He is trying to instill fear in people until there is a vaccine at which point people won't realize just how widespread the virus got and Fauci can be declared a national hero.
No worse than the flu??? What experts are saying that? I've not seen a single expert mention that COVID is no worse than the flu. The only people who say that are people with zero years of medical school/training, who just don't like the new rules.

I have a feeling that Fauci's recommendation will be moot as by Thanksgiving much of the country will have to go into lockdown to stop hospital capacity from getting blown out across the country.
Ahhh yes, the long-predicted "surge" that overwhelms hospital capacity, forever three weeks away...

Jamin and other cult members believe Trump.
Seriously they do! Now that is hard to believe.
You're employing a straman argument. The topic is about whether Thanksgivings should be cancelled, not about whether we "believe" Fauci's theroies about coronavirus.
Actually it isn't. Where do you get your knowledge about Covid?
absurd really? wrote:

Again, this isn't about the highly contentious facts about COVID-19.
This is about the political question of whether we should go back to life as normal. My opinion is that we should've let this be a normal year. If the media hadn't decided to make COVID-19 a thing, 2020 would've been a normal year. The virus is real but the "pandemic" is a media creation.

About half of the American people are crazy or duped. The lack of cohesion in your country is why you can't get the case numbers down, dummy.

This is evidence that having a STEM-degree does not make you smart or an expert in any other field.
If Fauci said take off your masks and stop social distancing all you dull bulbs would be saying he's a genius and the best scientist ever. He's not politically biased, you are.

Are we really giving up our essential liberty?
Trump supporters hate Fauci because he is against the narrative Trump was spinning in the beginning. Trump supporters literally cannot criticize Trump for a single issue in a serious effort, and if they "do", they merely brush it off with an excuse.

Trump supporters like to pretend that U.S. numbers are fabricated. Quick, somebody tell them that. Every other country is in league with the evil Fauci and are plotting Trump's overthrow.
Worldwide deaths:
1,102,068
Oh, wait, here's this interesting piece of info:

lol, fake news amirite
For all you sick, sadistic whackjobs (you're at the top of that list RoyBoy- hardly precious- definitely worthless) who think that families shouldn't get together and that the elderly can't make the decision themselves as to whether they want to see loved ones and give and receive hugs- you are lower than the regulation fascists- you are anti-human.
How dare scum like Fauci even pretend to think he has a right to say that families can't gather together and share in their lives. You are all sick people.
GREELEY, Colo. (CBS4) — Residents at nursing and rehabilitation facility in Greeley organized a protest against Colorado’s coronavirus restrictions. On Thursday, about 20 residents gathered outside Fairacres Manor, many in wheelchairs, holding signs that read “Rather die from COVID than loneliness,” and “Prisoners in our own home,” and “Give us freedom.”
Ben Gonzales, an assistant administrator at Fairacres Manor, said the residents are upset about the COVID-19 restrictions put in place by the state health department.
“They want to be able to hug their grandchildren, they want to be able to hold the hands of their loved ones,” Gonzales said.
Gonzales said the residents are able to see visitors, but they have to stay six feet apart and can’t have any physical contact.
Gonzales told CBS4 the Fairacres Resident Council wanted their voices to be heard — and organized the protest on 16th Street.
“We used to be lucky here at Fairacres to show each other what we mean to one another and we cannot do that anymore,” said Resident Council President Sharon Peterson, who is 75. “Fairacres follows the rules and, with that, we think they would keep us safe while being able to be with our families again.”
“We did this because one thing we have to look forward to is a simple hug,” Peterson said. “It gives us meaning.”

We lack cohesion because a lot of us were brought up to fight at all costs and not lay down whenever something threatens us. That's why we have constantly had to bail out wimpy countries like whichever one you come from.

It's scary that you can't see that we are.
Fauci is not telling anybody that they can't gather together. He stated that it may not be wise for some people. He's extra cautious. Make up your mind as you weigh the consequences. I'll wear a mask, social distance but get together with others. I'll take the risk some of my relatives won't.
Regarding the nursing home you site. If someone dies you know the home is going to be sued. If you dont want your mother in a home isolated have her live with you.

Not successfully.
You are too trusting in the legitimacy of the system.
One of the first things the states did when this virus hit was pass laws that make it near impossible to sue nursing homes over Covid deaths.
Nursing homes are a huge business and dominated by a few large players who pour tons of money into politics.
What are your Thanksgiving plans?
It’s a simple question you won’t answer for some reason.
You started a thread implying you won’t change your plans.
