This winter I am going to have to do a good number of my runs indoors.
I have rarely used treadmills more than a few miles at the gym so this is a lot of new info for me. There are so many too choose from and it looks like there are a lot of different apps or software to choose from too.
What I figure - I want one with at least 3.5 horsepower, 20 x 60 running surface area, and one that is soft and durable.
I am looking at spending around $4000 to $6000 if one is a good fit.
From reviews it looks like ifit is a bunch of junk but others love it. Runsocial looks like it is dead and cannot be loaded on machines anymore. I am trying to figure out how Swift works and it looks like I would like it a lot better than the studio type of workouts or the personal trainer goes with you along the run.
I am about 200lbs and 6 foot. I want to be able to go around 6:30 pace for 10 miles on it without it falling apart. That is a lot of pounding for a machine.
I am looking at Landice but they said their new models will work better with software than the ones now so I would have to wait until early next year. That is okay if nothing else is out there as good.
I looked at Nordictrack 2950 and that seems ok. There was less cushion feel to it compared to the 32i but it felt more solid a machine.
Nordictrack 32i - thing shook a lot when I tested it for a few minutes. Good cushioning but don't know if I liked how much it shook.
I haven't seen them operate but these look like good options but am curious if anyone has tried them and would share their thoughts on how durable they are and how much cushion they provide.
