You mad bro? Admit it even if he had gone sub 29 you’d be complaining he didn’t go sub 28 or some nonsense.. Sub 30 for his first 10k when he has no track or road background whatsoever is pretty solid.
Haters gonna hate.
Your post reminds me of what I've always said about the Rupp bashing on these boards.
Wins silver medal in Olympics and the haters say "He didn't win gold"
Wins bronze medal in Olympics and the haters say "He finished third and was X time behind the winner"
Wins Chicago Marathon against a pretty stacked field (based on PRs) and it's "Yeah, well the real top Kenyans weren't there and he only ran X time, which isn't really impressive"
Wins Prague Marathon and PRs and it's "He only ran 2:06, what's the big deal?"
He could go to London Marathon, run 2:05 flat, set the AR, finish 5th and it would be "Yeah, but he didn't win"
Hell, he could go to London Marathon, run 2:05:39, NOT set the AR, WIN the race and it would be "Yeah, but he didn't set the AR and the only reason he won is because the Kenyans had a bad day"
Kudos to Jornet for stepping out of his comfort zone.
