By the way.
Even using the official numbers, Swedish Covid deaths are most assuredly not edging upward. In fact, they are effectively zero

And then there is Japan: heavily urban, older population, no lockdown, 13 deaths per million.
When you have neighborhood vigilante harassing the people who do not observe social distancing, you don't need lockdowns. They "regulate" themselves.
Lame fake news.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7xG2efCvyAIf things carry on as they are with people not wearing masks, things will carry on as they are. Things won't get back to normal.
If there was a large amount of people wearing masks, social distancing and hand washing then this thing would be stamped down on and over within a month. People are just not willing to do it, so we carry on in this half life.

This is about Sweden. Things are almost back to normal there.

Herd immunity has conquered every virus so far, and is the only thing which will defeat this one, not a pantomime theater of ritualistic nonsense.

This is what the media and pols tell us.
We don't need you to repeat it.
Any thoughts of your own?

Yes, but only if there were a vacine.

No, things are not "almost back to normal there". Not even in the other Nordic countries, which BTW have done much better.

Yeah right...masks for a month and we’re back to normal? I’m in MA. 95%+ people here have been wearing a mask everywhere they go for the last six months. People are MILITANT about masks.
We still consistently have ~500 hundred cases a day, with no end of masks/social distance rules in sight. If anything, the rules just keep getting tighter and people keep getting more rigid.
The only way it’s over is with a vaccine or herd immunity. We could have had the latter months ago if we’d have the stomach to accept our fate.

Except for the cratered GDP -- which was the whole thing no-lockdown was supposed to avoid, right?

You actually believe the story that the nation that did nor close down its businesses is doing worse than those that did?
Can you explain how that is remotely possible?

Why would Sweden lie about this?
https://www.businessinsider.com/coronavirus-sweden-gdp-falls-8pc-in-q2-worse-nordic-neighbors-2020-8They did worse then Nordic neighbors.
And also -- they did close businesses in the same way the USA did for the most part. Lots of limits on in-person retail, dining, etc. How long were businesses actually closed where you were? There's this pervasive myth that stores are all close still in the USA -- do you people go outside?
YMMV the genius strikes again. Herd immunity certainly conquered HIV! So glad we didn't have to spend billions developing therapeutics (RT inhibitors, protease inhibitors, fusion inhibitors, integrase inhibitors) and pushing AIDS education/mitigation/testing to high risk groups... Oh wait.

I think you need to clean the "gotcha" slobber off your monitor now.
I should have qualified my statement to respiratory viruses, of which there are legion, and all of which follow the same Gompertz curve which we are now seeing with covid-1984.
Corona is the pretty much the opposite of HIV: quite contagious but extremely low lethality. Thank heavens that Fauci so quickly delivered on the HIV vaccine he promised back in the '80s.
