It is well known that LRC hates all virtual races. No exceptions.

My goodness, what college did you go to?
Prolly some college that had a powerhouse track team.
Great initiative!

Deer Nick Willis. It is a big surprise to see you on this site. Was the olympic medal the greatest moment of your life? What was it like being on the same track as Bekele(different races of course) where he had an epic double in the 5,10k. Did you speak to eachother before or after the races? Beijing was the best Olympics.
I went and looked it up Nick and Bekele have raced each other 3 times.
Nick's closes finish is 11 seconds behind Bekele (granted 2 of them were short course world XC).

Interesting to know. I guess most of the endurance based 1500m runners would have enjoyed the short XC course in the off season. It must have been epic to be in those races. What was your experience like Nick?
Those were brutal. Much harder than the 10km at NCAAs, where you could start off controlled. and work your way through the race. The 4km was more like a hard mile, and then a death march to the finish line. The first year I did it I went through the 3k in close to 8 flat and finished the last km in over 4 minutes. Being the week after indoor NCAAs I was probably out of gas. Great experience though.
Cool idea. Are we gonna see any sub 9 mins?
Besides of Nick and Mary, Ben Flanagan and Jennifer Rhines are amongst the most well known names on the start list so far. I might have overlooked / not know a few though.
Push... for a good cause

The same Letsrun that funded the PanAm selection arbitration?
If my college sucks, I don’t like them, and I don’t want to run for them... can I pick another team?
Willis, Brennan, Flanagan, and don't forget Webb. Makes for a pretty solid alumni team.

I'm down for this but how do I know where to start for 2 miles on a track?
I know how to run 3200 but that technically isn't two miles. My track has a mile start. If I just double the distance between that an the finish that would be the 2 mile start right?
Use your feet to measure how far back the 1 mile start is from the finish, then double this. If you don't have a mile start measure the width of six lanes with your feet (lanes are 1m wide), then triple that distance.

What did you just say? PanAm something something something? For a follow-up, do you have Letsrun sending that woman to World Cross? This isn't merely low-hanging fruit, it's bizarrely obscure to the level of pointless.
I know this is a COVID and politics discussion board and all, but I thought maybe a couple other people would be interested to know what's going on in this race.
Still a week to go, but in the early results Northwest Missouri State is off to a big lead in the men's team race and Jen Rhines is crushing the age-graded scoring with an 81.6
