Definitely not. That time he ran a bit over 3 miles at 4:02 pace was him running absoultely flat out. 5th gear. Full on sprint. He cannot and never would be able to no matter how much he trained. Not enough natural speed.
Yeah, neither does Jakob, but he's still a pretty good miler.
Hey, it's amazimg
Maybe in cheater shoes, in Nike streaks he’s a 20min 5k guy.

OMG!!!! Are you serious???? Do you run?
Absolutely YES!!!!!!!!!
"Go Run One"
Considering my best was 4:01 and I was a 29:05 10,000m runner. I would give him 3:47ish easy.
No, but maybe he can do 3.125 of them back to back haha 0/10

Seems he's maxed out at a 3:37 1500. So whatever that converts to a mile.
Why would he be maxed out at 3:37 if he ran that time 4 years ago? He could probably run in the 3:32-3:33 range for 1500. I bet he could run sub 8 for 2 miles.
As a Trump supporter, I absolutely do not think Cheptegai could break four minutes in a full mile race.

I'd guess by the uppercase omg with multiple explanation marks they are a 15yr old female, I don't think sarcasm is taught in schools until at around 17 years of age so we will let them off.
His 1500 PR is 3:37.82, so yes.

+ infinity.
Unless, some other basement kid asks..."would he win a Park Run"?
BTW, to underscore the stupidity...he ran the last 1,600m in 4:00.12, after 4:02.45 and 4:02.29 the previous two sets of his '1,600m reps without rest'
I feel like Cheptegei would have run a sub-4 mile by now if he were truly capable of achieving this feat. East African runners know that the real money in the sport comes from the west. And to impress Westerners, an athlete must run a sub-4 mile on a big stage. There's a reason Cheptegei isn't getting much mainstream press in the US. Until he proves that he can break 4 in the mile, Cheptegei will only be known to hardcore fans of the sport. My opinion is that he is ducking the event along with Kiplimo because they know they can't break 4.
You mean break 4 at the end of a 5k I assume. These are the worst troll posts I have seen or the dumbest posts I have seen. The guy finished his world record 5k in just over a 4 minute mile. This is like asking if a 15:40 5k runner can break 5 in the mile.
*explanation marks? At least the 15 yr. old knows what punctuation means... You moran.

Get out of your basement and you will find that USA is not the west.
No one in the west, or elsewhere , cares about running miles or what the mile record is. The 4 min mile is no longer a goal, and the mile is rarely run in Diamond League and anywhere else for that matter.
We have a metric system.

Are you joking or completely out of your mind?
Cheptegei is way superior to Galen in the 5000m and the 10000m and will also be superior to Galen in the 3000m and the 1500m if Cheptegei bothers to join fast races on these distances. AND GALEN RAN A 3:51 IN THE MILE!!
Further:
a. Cheptegei´s years old (from 2016) PB 3:37.82 in the 1500m equals around 3:55.5 in the mile!
b. As pointed out by others : Cheptegei ran just over 4 in the last 1600m in his 5000m WR run!
-------
I maintain that Cheptegei has potential to run 2 miles below 8 minutes on his current level challenging Komen´s WR.
