Because of reasons my XC season ends in the beginning of November but there's no track (indoor or outdoor) until the first week of May. So my plan was to use my ~6 month off-season to train for a longer race so that I'll get some speedwork in during training but still have enough mileage to build a decent base. Also I'd like to PR in a half since I haven't in about a year.
Anyway my plan would be to do a time trial for a half around the middle of April and then just back off a bit until track starts. Is this a terrible idea?
