This is nonsense. I will give the the fact that Bekele is the overall distance GOAT. But your argument for why is nonsense. His talent is not why he is the GOAT, it is his accomplishments. The fact that he can half a*s his training and do well is not something to adore about him.
Further, in the marathon, it has not been the case that he consistently does well on abbreviated training. He has been defeated outright by less talented runners many times.
You can say he's within 2 seconds of Kipchoge by one metric. However, Kipchoge has won the olympic marathon handily, won 4 london marathons, set course records in the 2 greatest marathons on Earth, and until Sunday had only ever been beaten at the distance by an EPO cheat.
Kipchoge is by far the Marathon GOAT, and Bekele is not even #2.
