If this is with say a year of training then A LOT of NBA players could reach sub 11 id think. just to name a few to add to this list:
Kyrie
Lebron
IT
Rondo
Probably a lot less than pro tennis players.
Djokovic was clocked doing 22.5 mph on a TENNIS COURT.
Imagine what he could do in full stride and after 100m training. 10.1 in a few months?

Any pretty good decathlete can run under 11.00 in the 100 meters, because they are generally athletic. Pick out the most athletic basketball players and they can probably do it with minimal training. These would be the basketball players that are out there not because they're 7 feet tall, and not because they can shoot a high 3 point percentage. But the ones who are only in the 6'2"-6'5" range that are explosive.
11.00 isn't that hard of a standard. People in my high school who wouldn't consider track their best sport were running 10.8.
Dwayne Schintzius
Eric Montross
Bryant Reeves
Luc Longley
Rik Smits
Scott Pollard
Larry Bird
Keith VanHorn
All sub 11. No doubt in my mind.

Sorry about that, Coach.
How could I forget him?!? What do you think, arguably one of the top 50 players in NBA history?

Not even gonna mention Alex Caruso. That guy could run 9.8 if he cared.

I agree there are MANY NBA players who could/did run sub 11. I had to look up Adam Haluska (Iowa basketball player about 15 years ago) to see if he ever played in the NBA - looks like he only appeared in preseason games, but he was really close.
Anyway, he was a 6'5" white guy who was credited with 10.1 in high school (I think it was at his home meet, possibly with his dad/coach timing) but upon a quick check he ran at least 10.76 FAT.
So, just based on that, I'm sure there are plenty of guys a standard deviation or two slower in the NBA, and still just under 11 seconds.
Take out Lebron he only ran a 4.6 hand timed 40 a 4.55at the NFL combine is not even worth a sub 11, Lebrons good for an 11.5.
Most of them can definitely do this with a year of training but I'd say only Jordan can do it without any, 4.38 for a big man is crazy.
Some of these guy just aren't sprint material, Westbrook is one of the fastest but he only ran 21.6 mph though he probably can run 23 without dribbling.
NFL player are much faster and at east 30 in any given era could do this.
Trae Young and Dennis Smith Jr.

Caruso is an athlete, he might have been able to run under 11.
Michael Jordan?
I don't know how fast Jordan could run but I can tell you right now that Clyde Drexler could get down the court faster than Michael Jordan.

Correct! Recurring theme that people underestimate pro athletes on these running threads
Like the way guys think that NBA players couldn't run a 4:50 mile... 9th grade high school girls can run 4:50 miles but somehow some of the best athletes in the world wouldn't be able to do it
People don't realize when you spend your whole day literally training for an intense cardiovascular sport like basketball you're in pretty good shape
There are guys in the NBA who could go out and easily run sub 4:40, and with some training could get down close to 4:20
Same thing with running sub 11 in the hundred. Yeah they might need a couple weeks of training to get the start down and shave half a second off their time but they definitely are in physical shape to run sub 11.
As a general rule any time that can be achieved by a high school girl can pretty much easily be achieved by the fastest NBA players with a little training

Jordan was the most explosive athlete for his size in the NBA. Just look at his dunks and highlights and you can easily see that he's simply faster and more explosive than any player his size
There's no way that when they were both in their Prime any one of comparable size could beat Jordan down the court
Drexler was an amazing athlete and is definitely very close. But there's a reason that Jordan could do more amazing dunks and Drexler he's a more explosive athlete.
Same thing for running down the court just look at highlights you'll see Jordan's quicker to start and probably has a higher top speed. Look at some highlights from Jordan's rookie season on YouTube. The guy was literally on another gear than the rest of the league.
But we're not talking about explosiveness. We are talking about running the 100M.
But while we are on the subject of Jordan. Years back I remember some other NBA player make an astute observation about Jordan. He said what made Jordan unique is that he was great at 3 different kind of jumps. He had a vertical jump,, a running jump (which Drexler had), and a gather and jump (like Dominque Wilkins). He said Jordan wasn't the greatest at any one jump. Just that he was great at all 3. That was something nobody had.
Honestly... hundreds of NBA players could run sub 11 over the history of the league with some specific training. Hundreds could also jump further that 23’ in the LG and over 6’8” in the high jump I would wager as well.

Nate Robinson has the state hs record in the 110 meter hurdles. 13.85. 38 second 300m hurdles. 22 ft long jump. Placed 2nd in these three events at his senior year.
His cousin is at WSU and has run 10.2x.
Kenny "The Jet" Smith ran track at North Carolina , running the 100m and 200m. I think he was ACC champion as well.
