I was wondering if anyone has had more success over the other? Easy pace is roughly 8 minute pace because of the terrain and rolling hills. However, every time I run on the road and take it easy I feel it more in my legs. What do you guys think?

It really depends. If you’re used to running on trails then running on asphalt is gonna be super shocking to your joints and bones. Hills are muscularly fatiguing. Ideally a flat park is perfect for recovery runs, but hills can be beneficial for building strength even on recovery days if you just take it real slow. Don’t be ashamed of walking if you start laboring hard. Recovery days are for recovery
I don't prefer one over the other. However, I've been wanting to find a balance between both of them. Hills are no joke and sometimes dropping an 8:30 bomber on rolling hills is brutal. I definitely can improve my strength so hills might be the move on easy days. Even road hills are good but damn they hurt afterward.
Definitely hit the trails w/hills, good for the legs and the soul!
