Good afternoon. I am new to the site but not new to running. My big issue is I have got nobody to train with. So, my run times are all over the place and I feel like I have plateaued and not sure what to do now. I went from running a 55min 5k to a 39 min 5k, within 30 days. Problem is I need my 1.5 mile down to 10:47 for an excellent score. Right now, I cannot get below 16 min. I usually hit the gym then run 5 miles on Mon, Wed, and Friday; and then Tuesday and Thursday do an interval run one day and 30/60s the other after running 2 miles and the sprints for 1 mile totaling 3 miles. For the weekend I will either run 1.5 on Saturday or 2 miles. Crazy thing is my times are slowly moving but I will hit days where I cannot run 2 miles without having to walk and others, I breeze through the whole run without stopping. My pace is the biggest issue, and I somehow always end up gassing myself early in the run. I am throwing Tabata in on the Tuesday and Thursday mornings starting today. I am not sure if I am training enough or too much. I have read where I should be running two times a day on some sites, then others where you want to be running about 3-4 times a week. I have a job I am doing this for and a deadline of anytime so I am training hard because I may get called to go take the test within another 30 days. I would really appreciate some input on this and I have a great deal of time during the week to work on things fortunately. I just need some direction to find some progress and know I am doing things the right way for the results I have to produce. Thank you for anyone that will provide advise.
