Damn this is gonna be sick. Great fields.

There are rumors that Kilian Jornet will run the marathon
Let's just add Valencia to the Marathon Majors list now. Great field and a fast course. The year is ending well. Really looking forward to seeing Gidey, possible WR in her first attempt at the distance

If KJ was running London this year how many loops would it take before he is lapped?
In terms of a world record I'm certainly most confident about Gidey and she hasn't even ran a half. Her 15k last year was insane, and she really didn't look that bad in the Monaco 5k. Spanked by Obiri, but she's the 2x 5k world champion. She pretty much matched her 5k PR from last year and though I'm sure she could run faster, if she's really that much better at 15k>10k>5k she should be keyed for the half.

If you ran London in 2:07-2:08 would it possible to get lapped? Is it an 800 meter loop?

It's a 2.15k loop. If the leaders run mid 2:02 a 2:08 performer is in danger of getting lapped as the leaders are averaging under 2:55 per K. KJ is frankly not capable of running anything close to 2:08, 2:12 would shock me. Ward recently came out and said if he doesn't get lapped it would be the greatest race he's ever had.
meh, not that excited about guys running 4:40 miles. That's being a slowpoke for a runner.
Would be better if they did 26 miles in the mountains. Would be far less boring.

so from the 11 women mentioned over the classic distance, i have this order:
Jepkosgei
Azmera Abreha
Birhane Dibaba
Aga
Mare Dibaba
T.Girma
Peres J.
Y.Zimer
Hasay
Joan Melly
and Fancy Chemutai
Nah,
Good weather, flat city, organisers that love the sport = Valencia quickly becoming the best running destination in the world.
It looks to me like the Valencia organisers are doing just fine without being part of the WMM show.
Peres Jepchirchir big favourite

Can't agree. Jepkosgei won a major last year and will beat her both in Poland and here, IMO.
We will see, i pick Peres for winning in Gdynia too.

Can’t see the WR holder taking it?
If they were held in March, then yes, most likely. Now i'm not so sure about Yeshaneh, she might win of course, but personally i rate Peres as the favourite. Might be wrong, will see.
I'm dying to hear of an announcement that Bekele will run
Would like to see Bekele run Valencia/Abu Dhabi/Dubai. He needs to get a good result to go to Tokyo. Biggest talent of his generation, he had a sub2 in him if he had Eliud's discipline. Still, he can win a medal in Tokyo with a good build-up

Do you think they will sneak out some more of the names of the 40 under 2.10 this week?
With Abu Dhabi postponed, will last year’s winner now be an addition here. It may now become 5 under 2.04 and drive the winner to sub 2.02?
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Rest in Peace Adrian Lehmann - 2:11 Swiss marathoner. Dies of heart attack.
I think Letesenbet Gidey might be trying to break 14 this Saturday
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
