Got injured (not running related) and I am curious what you guys think I could've done.
Base: 100 mpw avg for 10 weeks with a few build up weeks of just easy/moderate running and short workouts for turnover and a couple 30 min moderate tempos (~ 5:30 pace). Season opener of 15:30 on a 5k xc course and a solo time trial 4 weeks before that of 15:35 with almost all the laps even split with a 58 sec last lap.
Only did 1 hard workout before the injury:
Mile @ 5:07 - 2k @ 5:15/mi - 1200 @ 3:37 - 2k @ 5:15/mi - 800 @ 2:19 - 2k @ 5:05/mi - 400 @ 57 mid
everything had 2 min rest and accidentally went out in 66 for the 800 because it felt good, goal pace was slower so cruised the rest. The 400 wasn't all out, just fast and relaxed, if it was all out, probably would've been just under 55 or so, felt like I could've done another 2k and 400 at the same paces. Nothing felt crazy hard, but the last 2k was definitely tough.
Thoughts on where I could've been on the track after another month or so w/ a taper?
