Who do we have on TTs or races this weekend? I know we have Lanc... anyone else?

Excuses, excuses. If he was running primarily in them, then yea, probably not great.
I still think, if you are using for workouts 1-2 a week, they are not something that I think will be the primary source of injury. It feels different, but so does running barefoot, or in spikes, or in any other pairs of shoes if you have a pair of Brooks vs. Nike vs. Hoka. Any pair of shoes that doesn't fit right, or feels weird, or hurts your feet could have an impact.
I just think people look for reasons... it's not always the shoes.
It must be pretty rough if he Is willing to rip his main sponsors main super race shoe.... that’s what I find the most interesting. Apparently he considers the Next% the superior shoe
Late to the party.
S - 4
M - 8
T - 6.5 w/ hill sprints
W - Off
Th - 10
F - 6 w/ 6 x 1:00 on/off
S - 10
Total: 45
While very, very light, Friday was my first legit workout in almost 18 months. I count that as a major win.

Thats great Tyler. Always nice to have something on the calendar. Who are you using if you feel comfortable sharing? Any thought around times at this point or just going to see how things go over the next month or 2?
His name is Jimi Smith. He writes all of the major plans for my training group and has been a blessing in the past for me. Should have used him during my Boston build-up since I know I wouldn't have gotten injured because of it. Oh well.
And I don't have a goal time lined up at this moment. I want to let the chips fall where they may.
Big news. I managed to get in Harrisburg!! Will be in the "elite" corral on Sat. Nov. 7...

I agree. Blaming your injury on your sponsor's shoes seems like really poor judgment. Unless Nike is about to unveil the injury-proof version of the Next% (msrp $449.98)
Awesome OR! Congrats on the entry. I've talked about going up there to support a club member running, might happen. If so, I'll be heartily cheering you on as well!

Hah! I actually just emailed them about an hour ago to withdraw (since there's no way I will be in shape to run it). I wonder if you got my spot.

DW : Wow, maybe I did.
Tyler: You bet!!!
One other thought...I ran an 18.5-mile LR this morning with everything "up in the air," not knowing what would happen. That run was not in vain...

Would love to see you there and meet you, Lanc.
Great news, flyerboy! Time to be elite! Don't pull a Bekele ?
Thanks, Coach. Will do my best to make it a bibbed flyer. I feel blessed to have gotten in and am genuinely excited.
My anniversary is in a few days, and so we are heading to the beach tomorrow morning. That is why I did my LR this morning. I also got an excellent reservation for a hotel for the race. It has been quite a day.
Hey, Allen, how are you on this fine Saturday evening? We arrived at the beach a short while ago. Had a late lunch on the way down here...I had a chili burger. Legs a little sore and tight from the drive, but feeling GREAT otherwise. Cool and a little breezy here...nice...

Hey, OR, always good to feel great. Happy anniversary, and congrats on scoring the marathon entry. Very cool (thanks to darkwave?).
Awesome runs in your logbook this week. No soreness from the 30km run?
For me, a 4-miler and a 2-miler this week. And yesterday, I took a couple hours off work midday and did an "OR flyer." Well an "OR flyer" plus 2 minutes per mile! I averaged 8:12/mile for 12.2 miles. Not too bad on my 3-days, 10-15 miles per week schedule. First time over 8 miles in more than a year. Ibuprofen afterward seemed to keep knees happy.
Just came in from my workshop. Poured an Ellicottville (NY) Brewing Company "Fall Festival Lager. Tasty!
Dinner will be homemade veggie soup and turkey meatballs seasoned with fresh sage and chives from our herb garden.
Enjoy the beach!
No real soreness from the 30k LR...just some soreness in my left groin, but I think the drive brought that out some. Knees a little sore, but I have had that for a while now..
Yes, it was a good—no, very good— week for me...wait until you see the splits on Tuesday’s run—that was a heck of a flyer. Congrats on the 12.2-miler. You are moving in the right direction...speaking of which, do you think I did the right thing in choosing a full marathon rather than a half? It is on Nov. 7.

The PERFECT choice.
OR - you ever think about doing a double flyer in training? Like progressing to your fastest paces say 8 miles x2 instead of one full 16 mile flyer. A little more time in the fastest zones w a little jog in between.
