I just had the 1/2 pound flamethrower burger. I thought it was good, but nothing special about it. It tasted pretty good but not good enough where I would go back to get one again. There was just nothing that was amazing about it.
So far 2 to 1 for people who have actually eaten a flamethrower.
I've had many. I also got food poisoning from them on 2 separate occasions lol. I'd say dq burgers are pretty good though. Certainly not the best but they're pretty good for fastfood burgers. Their chicken fingers are also good but kinda tiny
I think you guys have never tried of Burger & Barrel, there meat is really nicely grilled you would definitely craving for more! https://lilgrill.com/best-meat-for-burgers/
My great grandmother came down from Boston and tried her first Whataburger this past week. She is 97 and usually doesn't eat much meat. But we got granny to get a Double Jalapeno burger with cheese and hot peppers and mustard with tater tots. She ate everything and when we were leaving the restaurant, she told everyone to stop - and she proclaimed, "What a burger!"
Wow, I’ve been looking back into burgers myself. How has the burger eating been going burger taster? Any thoughts on Red Robin? Not a fast food but chains can kind of be in their own category, sort of like a sister category. Any thoughts on other chains? I’m a fan of the variety at Red Robin. Best burger I’ve ever had was in Sedona. I’m kicking myself for not remembering the name of the place but it had a bar and a large outdoor patio and overlooked the red rocks. Highly recommend.
Great Fast Food Burgers: Kewpee - fantastic old school burger not many around though, Culver's - reminds me of the old Wendy's before they changed their menu to crap. Five Guys - also a great burger but really pricey.
Fastfood burgers - I love me some hamburgers but I don't like InnOut, RedRobin, Mcd, BK, Wendys. I like Smashburger, DQ, Whataburger, Carl's Jr, in that order.
All burgers are "fast food" but I'm not going to consider Kewpee because they're not really a chain. By chain I mean burger spots that you can find throughout a lot of the country.
Based on my criteria I'll go with Culver's & Smashburger. I'm pretty much a traditionalist and like my burgers as singles and not with a ton of stuff on them. At Culver's I'll get a simple cheeseburger with American cheese, mustard, pickle, & onion. Smashburger is what they call the classic smash with American cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, pickles, smash sauce, and ketchup. The smash fries with rosemary are really good also.
When I'm out west I'll get an Inn-N-Out every now and then and like them. One of my daughters was into eating grass fed beef for awhile. We were flying out of LAX and were early so we stopped at a Carls that was next to the airport and I got a grass fed cheeseburger with mustard, pickle, and onion. It was decent. I'm not sure if Carls/Hardees still serves that with grass fed beef.
I know that White Castle burgers aren't the best but every now and then I get a weird craving for them. They're so tiny that they're gone in a few bites.
For small places that really don't have a lot of locations, Akron has a place called Bob's Hamburg. It is one of the best burgers I've ever had. Everyone that lives in the Cleveland/Akron area raves about Swenson's but Bob's beats it hands down. Swenson's is decent but it's overhyped. My favorite from Swenson's is just a single cheese with mustard, pickle, & onion. They also call them hamburgs instead of hamburgers. That seems to be an Akron thing and they call mustard, pickle, and onion "everything" even though you can get other condiments. Also, Swenson's > Skyway. Hamburger Station in Akron is a better version of a White Castle but there aren't many locations remaining.
In Cincinnati there is a place called Zip's that is on Mt. Lookout Square that is pretty awesome.
My favorite burgers are the ones that I make at home. I have a meat grinder and will get a well-marbled chuck roast and grind it. The patties are loosely put together. They are sprinkled with salt and pepper just before they hit the grill and are only turned once and never smashed down. Sharp Cheddar or American. Mustard, pickle, and onion in the winter. In the summer when tomatoes are sweet and ripe it's the same cheese with lettuce, tomato, onion, and mayo. A good bun is key.
Is that just a burger with olives on it or is it mixed in the meat? Also, what kind of olives. I think that regular pimento stuffed green olives sliced up and put on a burger would be pretty good.
When I'm in the UP or Wisconsin I like to stop somewhere and get a pasty. Not the kind that dancers use to cover their areoles.
Not all burgers are "fast food." If you get it from a sit-down restaurant, it's not fast food.
Kewpee is still a chain, just a very small one these days with only 5 restaurants remaining. In-N-Out and Swenson's wouldn't qualify as chains either given your criteria.
Usually with sliced or chopped green olives on top of it, mixed in an olive sauce that includes mayo, olive juice, a few different spices, etc. Several places near where I live have them and most are pretty highly rated. No national fast food chains, but a few local ones, plus pubs and restaurants. I don't particular like olives otherwise, but I've become a fan (as long as the mayo/sauce doesn't overwhelm the olives).

Yeah, I kind of agree but you can sit down and dine in at just about any fast food burger place. I do like Kewpee though I only have had them a few times.
Swenson's is expanding There is now one in Indianapolis, five in Columbus, one in Cincinnati with another one on the way, one in Youngstown, and eleven in the Cleveland/Akron/Canton areas. I've heard they may be opening one in Pittsburgh also.
Two places that I forgot about but there is only one of each of them.
Triple XXX in West Lafayette, Indiana. I always get the Boilermaker Pete with 2 slices of American Cheese and grilled onions. They also have the Duane Purvis burger with peanut butter, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle & onion. I have family in West Lafayette and friends that went to Purdue and they always raved about it. I thought it was really good but I prefer a pretty simple burger. I would probably get it again. They also have a good breakfast. I always call the place "triple triple X." They said it's just "triple X." To me, Triple XXX is "triple triple X."
Another place with good burgers is City View Tavern in Mt. Adams in Cincinnati. Sitting out on their back deck in the summer with a Big Ted deluxe burger and a cold beer while looking out over downtown is pretty awesome.
