How experienced are you in eating and analyzing burgers mr burger taster? I'm no amateur when it comes to this field. How hungry were you when devouring this burger? Did you have any ice cream with the burger? Guesstimate how many burgers you have ate in the last 10 years and I'll let you know if you're a seasoned burger vet (no pun intended).
Ok. I'll start by saying I never said I was an expert. My name is "Burger Taster" after all, not "Burger Expert".
Experience: Well, I'll start with the fact that I really like fast food burgers. Has to have cheese, and if there's a spicy variety, I'll usually get that. I've had burgers from all the major or popular chains: McDonalds, BK, Wendy's, White Castle, In-N-Out, Shake Shack, Whataburger, Freddy's, Steak and Shake, Five Guys, Smash Burger, Hardees, Carl's Jr, Jack in the Box, Sonic, Checkers/Rally's, Culvers, Weinerschnitzel. Never been to Krystal or Fat Burger. I've also had lots of burgers at casual dining places like Red Robin and Big Boy, plus a ton of burgers from diners or local burger places.
How hungry was I: I was actually not that hungry. I only had the burger on that trip. This was part of the reason that I was so surprised at how good it was. Looked great, tasted amazing.
Estimate of how many in last 10 years: 2 fast food burgers a week for 10 years is my estimate, so 1,040 in the last 10 years.
The DQ 1/2 pound Flamethrower burger is one of the best fast food burgers I have ever had. Double-Double from In-N-Out is up there as is a burger from Five Guys. Shake Shack and Culvers too. The other ones are either average or I'd have to be in the mood for it. For example, White Castle Double Jalapeño burgers have their time and place. The Ultimate Cheeseburger at Jack in the Box has its time and place.
