Serious question. Not a joke.
I assume only Nike shoes will be allowed in this race. Does Rojo have any details to that effect? I don't have any agenda either way, just wondering.

Personally I believe Rupp’s record is out of reach of any current American. The only person that could break 26:44 is Galen Rupp.

Rupp-certified time trial vs. championship race.
A championship race that was honest from the gun, that was won in 2649, and where shadrack finished 9th, 18 seconds off the lead. He, along with others in that race, was towed into a PB.
Bottom line is that Rupp was consistently a contender on the world stage. Kipchirchir has never even won a US title at 10k. Suggesting that he’s going to threaten Rupp’s record is disrespectful in my opinion.
I enjoy the expression, “towed into a PB”. Happens a lot.
Frank Lara next year?
Records are meant to be broken amigo
Yeah I hope he gives it a go but 26:44 seems well out of reach. Nice to see an American lining up for a fast 10k tho. I wonder if they'll announce any more US runners. Be fun to see Chelimo, Korir, Lomong, etc. Lomong most unlikely since BTC ran their own season, which is now over. But idk why the article would just list Kipchirchir if someone faster was joining him.
I think he's definitely due for a PR. Some folks pointed to Doha but I think that performance was pretty solid. He went with the fast pace in some gross conditions & hung for a while. I think sub-27:00 is a much more reasonable goal & would be an excellent result.
What would be the goal of McSweyn here? Sub-27?
Galen's 10,000 AR is very strong and I hate using terms like "don't have a chance" but that term is apropos is this case.

I love how we can tell it's a rojo thread just from reading the title. Anti-Rupp? Check. Zero command of the English language? Check. Nonsensical premise? Check.
I don't feel like Rupp's AR is in any danger.
I made a mistake in the title and initiallyt typed battled time instead of borrowed. But I didn't make the assertion he was going for the AR, the press release did. It seems absurd to me but would the release say it if it wasn't the goal?
"On borrowed time" means something should have already happened. The idiom that it seems like you were looking for, as mentioned above, is asking if its "days are numbered."

The 10,000 WR assault just got even more interesting as a bunch of other naems have been added included Aussie Stewart McSweyn as well as American Shadrack Kipchirchir.

In the men’s 10,000m race, McSweyn, who recently posted an Australian 3000m record of 7:28.02 in Rome, will hope to lower his national 10,000m record of 27:23.80 in Valencia. Meanwhile, two-time World Championship 10,000m finalist Shadrack Kipchirchir will also line up in the 25-lap race, hoping to mount an assault on the US record of 26:44.36.
Letesenbet Gidey has been added to the women's 5000 as well.

Galen Rupp 10k American GOAT.
Record is safe as a house.

" Rupp's 10000m AR days are numbered? " Is that what you mean?
I mean, you are correct. Could be 10 days, could be 13598 days; who knows.

Rojo, you needn't explain auto-correct. It will doom modern civilization, if "community standards" hasn't already.
If you ain’t doping you ain’t winning.
