US fans, hows the announcing? I'm listening to the international feed.
Swangaard solid as usual, Ato is fine, but Montano still trying to find her way.
She keeps saying power home and something about her delivery is annoying
You'd think this would be bigger news:

The more I listen to her the more she reminds me of Carol Lewis. She seems to yell her commentary. She also reminds me of Joe Morgan in that you'd think being an ex-pro, you'd offer more insight than just guessing at the action.
Meh meet. A few good time trials, but the top-level competition that could have been there just wasn't. No Jakob, no Jacob, no Stephen. Flat distance events full of steeplers trying to stay in shape. Good for them, but since they were all there why not roll out the barriers and do their own event?
Meet highlight was Vazquez trying and failing to negative/even split. Big guys have to go out fast.

McSweyn was excellent.

Tim didn't look good in the 800. Sure he was rusty but he got out extremely slow, and then ran way too much extra distance trying to improve his position. Rotich looked really good, and Giles put in a nice effort. Otherwise, everyone else ran pretty poorly including Hoppel.

I think Timothy made a good choice by running the 800m.
Otherwise he would probably have been beaten by Mcsweyn in the 1500m!

I will add:
Kipyegon was excellent too and the 3000m was on a very high level with several PBs and a NR!
------------
By the way: Bad Wiggins is surprising me!
He has spend much time and energy on these pages to write down Jakob´s achievements but now he is complaining that Jakob was not there! (Jakob a top level competitor!?)
Yeah that was crazy a 9.87 , I never thought she would go sub ten. Why isn't anyone talking about this.

No he would not, Koevett.

Pointing out he ducks competition is no compliment.
I already commented on the time trials. Big deal. I'm not going to be excited about a tiny country where 3:30 happens to be a NR, or a 3000 SB that runs about average for recent seasons.

Sorry, didn't realise there were loads of countries that have NRs faster than 3:30?
3:30 is a good time no matter what way you look at it

I'm very interested in the Men's 800, think it'll be pretty entertaining to see Tim C take on the specialist Hoppel.
Maybe a mod can go ahead and make this the official thread? Here's a link to the Schedule/Results for anyone curious:

I'm a Brit who is subjected to Brit search coverage mixed with acknowledging leading world performances. In Doha, I saw a strange (aka pay cheque appearance collection) 800m men's race. Rotich was the stand out operator with a strong 1.44.18 win. Giles from Britain ran genuinely as best he could...and found himself in 'no man's land's. Not quick enough to run down a victory and ridiculously far ahead of talented runners so as to not take the race overly seriously as a pointer to Tokyo.
Thompson Herah, newly married she may be. That she is genuinely BACK in the hunt for GOLD is unquestionable!! It's great news to see healthy, fantastic runners perform at their best. Asher Smith (GB) is acutely aware of the TWIN JA THREAT O Shelly Ann FP plus AN Other that America bring in. Not this Hobbs character! The young college sensation 'Sh'aar' may pose a threat but I think it'll be too soon. Africa's finest such as Ta Lou & Daphne will have it ALL TO DO!! DON'T WISH TO BE YOOOOU OR Y'ALL!!JA IN DA WOMEN'S BARN/HOUSE!!!

One of the 800 stars will take down Kipyegon
That proved A MOST LAUGHABLE PREDICTION!! KIPYEGON IS NO BUM!! SHE IS A WORLD GREAT SUPERSTAR WHO, POST PREGNANCY, IS SHOWING WHAT CAN BE ACHIEVED WITH TALENT, HUNGER, HARD WORK AND BELIEF. SO GREAT TO SEE A WORLD CLASS RUN LIKE THIS POST SEMENYA. REEKIE WHO!!?? GET REAL!! AJEE AND THE UGANDANS PLUS A N OTHER KENYAN WILL SORT OUT THE MEDALS COME JAPAN!! OOOOH YEEESS!!

So what is your comments to Timothy´s ducking since DL Stockholm and his come back in DL Doha in miserable shape?

Can you tell me what the NR in the 1500m would be in the US (inferior country?) if you hadn´t got your 2 African immigrants?
Indeed Don Digrunti. It is for me. I look forward to seeing SAFP and Elaine T competing against each other now that Elaine seems to be getting back to the 2016/2017 form.
I look forward to seeing Elaine, Shelly and Sha'carri competing against each other. Was Sha'carri's time a fluke? Only time will tell.

If Sha'carri's time of 10.7 was not a fluke and all all three turn up in top form, the gold is up for grabs as anyone of these fine ladies could win it. It will be a cracking final. Asher-Smith stands a better chance in the 200M especially if Elaine doesn't run it.
Ta"Lou is off her game, but given she has never run a 10.7 I don't see her being a threat. Schipper's performance was a one year fluke because Elaine lost her form. Notice she has not beaten Elaine in any other race after that even when Elaine was not at her best due to injury.
If only Faith could beat Hassan in ANYTHING. Christ Hassan could win 800m - to the moon and back. She's the greatest female distance runner ever. Could probably compete in the 400lol.
But yeah Faith has done more this year.
The Olympics ought to schedule their races around what Hassan wants to run lol.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
Rest in Peace Adrian Lehmann - 2:11 Swiss marathoner. Dies of heart attack.
