I’m recovering from a stress fracture and have always paid attention to core work but I’ve always done that same routine and I think maybe I’m missing something.
Usually 4-5 times a week I’ll do the same routine that has two parts
1. Hips/glutes
2x20 clamshells (on sides)
2x20 reverse clamshells
2x20 backward diagonal leg pulses
10 x backward kick bent leg, side hip raise, backward kick straight leg (on hands and knees)
10x one legged glute bridge w/ last rep a ten second hold.
Repeat for opposite leg.
2. Abs
1 min Russian twist w 12 lbs
1 min side plank each side
1 min plank
1 min alternating aerial toe touch crunches with med ball
1 min prone to alternating knee crunch with medball
1 min windshield wipers with medball between knees
1 min leg raises with yoga ball between feet
1 min alternating opposite knee and arm while holding the yoga ball between the other (on back)
1 min side crunch both sides
All the hip work besides the bridges are done with a green theraband. Any suggestions? I’ve heard people talk about Jay Johnson SAM exercises..are they any good?
