Two and a half years ago, I was laid off from a major corporation where I had worked for just shy of twenty years. I thought that it was a disaster. I tried retirement for a few months, but it got boring when I was the only one of my peers who was retired. At that point I tried to figure out what to do with the rest of my life. After a lot of research and and consulting individuals whos' opinions I trust, I ended up purchasing a business. I have been doing it for almost two years now. I absolutely love it and could never go back to corporate America. I am thankful for the job that I previously had and the way that I was treated on that job, but it is entirely different working for yourself. The motivation is much greater as is the sense of pride in what I am doing. Getting laid off was ultimately the greatest blessing in disguise of my life.
