Actually, the athletes at the top (of revenue sports) are the ones who are getting exploited. The star QB's, RB's and WR's who are on the posters and have kids walking around with their Jersey # are losing out in this situation.
The 3rd string tight end, the backup right guard, or the 11th man on the Basketball team, especially at a great school and not a huge sports powerhouse like Cal, are getting a free education to a university that most of them would't have been able to afford or get into in the first place.
But I would also like to see what the specific proposals are. I read this article and the last one (if you could call it that), and all I can see is a bunch of whining about change and why it's needed, and insinuations about proposals, but no actual proposals.
Is paying the players of revenue sports the solution? How much, and do all players get paid. the same or is there pay by position? What happens to the non-revenue sports, like track, when there is a lot less money to go around to them? If they are paid, does that make education more or less likely to happen while they're in school?
