Is that good or bad?
ERMAHGERD!!! Shut.It.All.Down. Now!!!
So, either
a) that stuff was already in the child, and got onto the mask; or
b) it was outside the child, and the mask kept if from getting inside.
So a is neutral and b is beneficial. Thank goodness for masks!
Breathing helps the body to get rid of waste products and to maintain homeostasis.
Without being able to breath freely, people soon get sick and can die, which is not ever a good thing.
.
This is exactly the reason that I don't wear a mask.
.
It seems to me that children will be even more negatively affected by wearing a breathing restricting mask then adults.

Exactly. The OP is correct that since masks are problematic we need an extensive lockdown. I agree with OP. Lockdown maybe until Thanksgiving. Well said.

There is no scenario, in non-mask life, in which that stuff sitting millimeters from your mouth and growing all day.

Uh, bruh a) is decidedly NOT neutral!
In the Spanish flu epidemic of 1918 the #1 killer was not the influenza virus itself, but rather bacterial pneumonia caused by bacteria migrating inward to the lungs.
At the risk of being obvious, wearing a mask for 8 hrs continuously is like not changing your underpants for three days
Here's the real cause of the 1918 Spanish flu deaths.

It should be obvious that wearing a mask all day is just inviting trouble. Instead of expelling things out of your system you are just culturing and magnifying the presence of bacteria and virus that would normally not reach levels to be problematic....then you get sick , maybe pneumonia, maybe actually enough covid to get you covid. Masks should be short term for when you go to crowded places or the store, not for all day use and not for children while they are at school all day. It is practically child abuse in that latter context, not to mention that they will be totally screwed when they never learn to read facial expression and interact with people in a normal world....oh wait, we are supposed to accept this new normal because we have to keep doing this now, not just the two weeks required to flatten the curve, but forever until we have a vaccine that works although we will never have a vaccine that works...so forever...."cause science", even though the science actually says stop this nonsense.

And at the risk of again being obvious, did they also measure the levels of same pathogens carried by child prior to wearing mask?
Did they do the tests on other kids?
How many other kids?
No baseline, no averages...you numb nuts just suck up any garbage to fuel your trolling.
Microbiologist here.
If you have ever left a Petri dish open for a few minutes you see lots of colonies anyway.
Bacteria and fungi are in the air all the time - do you thing life spontaneously evolves every time food spoils?
So where is the negative control?
Poor science, poor trolling attempt.

Rotten bacteriology and poor trolling, but good enough for the needy LRC conspiracy theorists.

Wow.
Once you commit to a belief you are all in.
Nothing can shake your commitment.

Have you not passed 11th grade Biology? This is literally part of the curriculum - leave a Petri dish uncovered overnight and then incubate for a few days. Tons of bacteria.
Hey.
If God or natural selection did not want us to have masks we would not have been born with them on our faces.

FTFY. Fortunately we *were* born with brains that the figure out how to produce, and the value of, protective equipment when circumstances warrant.

And to the poster above with the "all in" comment: nope, sorry. I *have* changed my opinion on important things when presented with evidence and logic.
As one example, I used to be a *huge* climate-change skeptic. But I deemed the subject important enough to do some actual research on it. (Real research: not YouTube videos, blogs, or Facebook pages.) And so I changed my opinion.
Masks work, though not perfectly. (Ditto vaccines, by the way.) Earth is round. And humans have been to the Moon.
So, if this observation was relevant, you would be seeing kids in Germany wearing masks all day getting sick at alarming rates. (crickets)
