Thanks for the advice! Do you think progressive runs of like 8-10km, starting at 4:30-4:35/km and ending around 3:20-3:25/km (goal 5km pace) are a good type of fartlek workout or count as one? I've been doing this type of sessions and feel like they help me improve endurance and being able to run fast when tired
Yeah, I definitely am not professionally trained, lol. Only 10 months of running and never followed an exact training plan, I'm sure with elite training and many years of experience people over 180 lbs and much more can have amazing time like KaareV said, it's just not the norm. I don't care about weight, I know I can get much faster with more training and experience and that's enough for me.
As far as the low mileage, I guess once you've gotten to a certain physical shape, you can basically maintain with low mileage (atleast for the 5k), but probably it's gonna be very hard to improve like that
