I want a good reputation. What percent of people think he's on EPO?
I was stunned when I was doing a little research into the ultra world last year when someone told me they thought he was on drugs. I have no idea if he is or not but was for some unknown reason stunned to learn there might be dopoing in the utlra world. I don't know why that stunned me as their is cheating in all walks of life.
Kilian HAS a good reputation everywhere. Is only denialists like the ones populating these boards that ignore all the testing he undergoes and point their fingers at him for no other reason that he's a great mountain runner.

Eh. He wasn't officially DQ'd for good reason.

Wasn't Canaday one of your athletes? Hasn't he, in recent years, ranted that he thinks its a rampant PED-infested Wild West at the top of the ultra-sport?

Rojo seems to often post tongue in cheek to "start a discussion" in case you haven't noticed - a Lyndsey Lohan Mean Girl emulation, just stirring the rumor pot.

I have heard statements like this so many times, and don’t understand why people think you need BALCO or some team of doctors to dope. Christian Hesch, the amateur runner who got busted for EPO a few years back, said one month cycle was $400. He sourced/bought/injected it himself and stole prize money for several years from clean runners.

Is Surprising that even Sage ignore all the testing having competed many times with Kilian for so many years... Kilian has a good reputation in Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin america, but in the states ... wonder why?
by "little research" he means, a chat with Canaday on how to discredit Kilian Jornet and improve Sage image... "Oh Sage if only Kilian wouldnt had raced Pikes Peak last year you would had won it"... "Im telling you Rojo he is on drugs, no way he can be that fast... I dont want to keep doing Uber rides, is so frustrating"

It's not doping that's expensive, it's getting away with it in the age of the ABP and targeted OOC testing. Hence all the Kenyan positives the past few years. But I don't know that anything like that exists in mountain/ultra running.

Yeah and he got busted. You just proved my point.
For Kilian to operate at a high level and never get busted would require labs to test him. The labs have to do the same tests as the authorities and then restrict what the athlete does. And he would be taking blood transfusions and other research drugs, not this stuff available to the common man.
btw. Petro Mamu who came 2nd in Sierre-Zinal was busted for EPO previously. So there is testing and he's not a guy tested as much as Kilian.
Anyway who needs to dope when you have a VO2 max of 92??? And doping places a lot of restrictions of where you can be at certain times and what races you can do and when you can train. Kilian is up in the mountains all the time, you think he has time for this inconvenience?

According to some here Kilian has a lab at his home garage in a remote town in Norway, his wife Emely makes the blood transfusions every night
I think it was the Pikes Peak Marathon thread of last year where some interesting things were shared. There was some questioning of the supposed testing that Solomon was setting up; could have been on some other threads, too. And correct me if you have facts, but I don't think the ultra folks have to deal with the ABP.

No, he didn't. The reason he was eventually busted was because teammates turned him in. It wasn't due to triggering a test.

No, he was busted twice with a blood test.
Killin Jornet is not nice.
One of the things that is not mentioned often enough here, is the level of competitive achievement he has achieved in different sports.
To win almost every important trail race out there, and to do it in distances from VK, to long sky races, to classic 100 milers, and on to FKT on the 200 miles around Lake Tahoe shows incredible versatility. However, when you add all the ski mountaineering races - at World Cup or World Championship level - that he has won, plus the 24 hour uphill ski vertical record, and then factor in extreme ski descents like the Fiva Route on the Troll Wall, you start to see a guy that is on a different level. But when, you think about him leading 5.11+ trad routes, soloing long mixed alpine climbs in Chamonix, bagging an easy 8000 meter peak (Cho Oyu) in three weeks (Norway and back), plus FKT Denali, Matterhorn, Mont Blanc, and Aconcagua, you are talking about an amazing athlete, with an amazing skill set.
Of course, I fell in love with the guy when he won Hardrock, finishing the last 50 miles with a shoulder separation and his arm in a sling.

Whether he is nice is irrelevant.
I just ran with the runner who ran the Bethel Hill Moonlight Boogie Ultra Marathon 50 miler in 5:16. on Tuesday of this week. He is willing to help me with my running free of charge and others because he is a kind soul. I was also at the race and ran the marathon while the 50 miler was on the same course at the same time. The course is run on hilly roads in southern NC. Ivo Benov is an accomplished local (Raleight NC) runner and decorated Army officer who still serves. He is currently training for 2:20 marathon. He is an absolute clean runner who does not even use caffeine. He helps so many runners like myself to get stronger and better. Ivo was disappointed with the race results this year as it happened in Aug (Covid) instead of early June and was at least 10 degrees hotter which led to slower overall times. His goal for the 2021 Moonlight Boogie 50 miler is to break 5 hours. It breaks my heart to hear an accusation about a non-professional person who just loves running and helps others. He is planning on running the Tunnel Hill 50 coming up. Follow him on Strava to see the daily workload and pace. Shame on you.

Good post. Also, pretty sure it was more than 50 miles as I recall an interview (irunfar?) where he said that it happened early on (like mile 12 or something) where he was messing around on some rocks and fell. I am sure he felt a little ashamed to hurt himself fooling around and dislocate his shoulder. So he folded his arm into his hydration vest and kept going. Then they taped it up at an aid station and he continued to crush it, using 1 pole with his good arm. Legend.

No, you were responding to a guy that brought up CH, and CH was initially flagged by a teammate(s) that saw some goods in his bag (or maybe it was his jacket). You can probably find that info with a search.
