from 1500-10k, 1500 is Gressier worst distance.
It's a shame he ran the 1500 in Ostrava to PB by only 0.2sec while there was a great 5000 where he could have been close to crippa and smash his PB.
I believe he would have run 7:39-7:40 in Rome.
Absolutely agree with you. There was a moment that Jakob was third behind Jacob and Mcsweyn and the pace slows down. At that moment Jakob went in front of Jacob and i thought: " Noo , pacience! Stay and sit behind Jacob. You are the 1500m runner! Take the advantage of the draft and kick him out !" But later I understood. This Diamond races are made for making good times. Winning is not so important. He was looking for the European Record. You could see it in his face when he was outkicked. Inmediately he congratulated Jacob and doesn`t looked dissapointed. That was not the case when he lost the race in Monaco.
The reason why we are all talking about Jakob is not for being racist. The young africans are coming and dissapearing. In Tampere 2018 three guys beated Jakob. Some of you heard about them? Where is Zakayo and Manangoi? Jacob was a noname also. Maybe he will it be again next year again. But Jakob is presenting an absolut solid and standing running carreer. There are no highs and downs. You feel there is something growing very slowly and constantly for becoming very big over the years.

As I said on the post-race podcast for subscribers, my takeaway is that he's got to be depressed.
1) He's not even the best guy named Jakob/Jacob in the world.
2) He's not even the best 19 year old in the world and he just got beat on the track by someone officially younger than him probably for the first time in his life.
3) He turns 20 on Saturday and probably is wondering if e's on the backside of his career.
Wow. He runs a 7:27 at age 19 and you go this negative?
Engineering may well be the right word.
I saw the startlist for the norwegian Championchip for this weekend. I found Jakobs name in the 800m, 1500m, steeple, 5000m and 10000m race. I misunderstood something or what a kind of madness is this? has anybody got further information? How he can do that with a 7:27 in his legs?

I'm always wondering if that's just what you want or if you are reelly that dumb.
Does getting mad change anything? Is Jakob the best at anything yet? Nope. 2nd.
Both Tim and Jacob are gonna be in his way for the next few years at least. Can't hate your way out of it.
U usually post provocative nonsense. For which reason?
J Ingebrigtsen is lacking GRIT? Still not 20, European record over 1500m, 2000m and 3000m (european born). But he is lacking grit because he doesn't have the best finishing kick?
But for sure, if he just had grit, he just would have gone early yesterday and won the race in 7:19. But 7:27.05 in his first race at the distance in a while at 19. What a loser.
How there can be any criticism of a 19 year old running 7:27 is just ridiculous. The jealousy of some posters on this site is just sad.

You see jealousy others see praise and worship from the other camp. And excuse making. When TC beats him pple get out a ruler to measure by how much and say never mind, it was only by half a meter. When Kiplimo beats him, suddenly coming second is a bigger achievement than coming first. It's because JI fans are very disrespectful of everyone else. No one beats him fairly it seems. Oh he is only 19. Oh he is only European. Fyi, no one is going to organize a WC or Olympics and exclude Africans or non 19 year olds because of JI. His fans power on here after another race and crown him king of everything, he can run 12:40 in 5k, has he? He was chasing a first time not the win, are two mutually exclusive? Just give other athletes their due. The season is disrupted, some people are not even running because of inability to travel, etc....and instead of balanced debate on the meets, all one gets is JI did this or that. There is a laughable YouTube video by some guys, the video headline though, you wd think JI won the race.
https://youtu.be/WxBB_9EneNMIt's as if the winner doesn't count at all.
If you are going to disrespect pple to this extent may be you can start having JI run solo at these events. 1500/3000 event coming up, only runner is JI. Then his fans can party all they want. If they don't find a way to suggest he just defeated the whole world.

When you enter a race officially you do not necessarily have the intention to run in all of them. Personally, I think Jacob should run the 800 to improve his speed. I assume he has little or no competition at the longer distances.

Jakob is too big to reach the top at 5000 or 10,000.
I like when you make predictions. That way I know they will not be true.
Saw that as well, totally crazy! Guessing he won't start all of them and not sure i Gjert will allow him to run a fast 10000 unfortunately.
Would be cool if he did a 3000m sc and 10000m double and took the norwegian record in both, then he would have all records from 1500-10000.
800 record is mid 1:42 so unreachable for him unfortunately but all others are fair game.
I am afraid this child prodigy will burnout before he gets to run in college. I hope his coach / dad will cut his training back so he meets our expectations in the US.
Poor kid. Sad... I’ll send them some training plans to slow him down to match his peers.
Come on! You can't possibly believe that coaching is redundant (good luck on your next job interview if that's your pitch). Talent gets a person so far but for mid-d and distance tactics matter and they have to be taught. Look at Mo Farah, a classic also-ran before he went to Salazar.
And you say Jakob has been winning races all summer (actually three) but who's he beat? Jake Wightman. He's 11-0 against Cheruiyot, he couldn't even beat him when Cheruiyot went out at a lunatic pace in Monaco. You'd think if he was smart Jakob could have worked out how to win just one of those 11 races against Tim. I think Jakob is great, but let's face it, he gets so much attention because he's a white guy running well in distance events. That matters for sponsors and TV exposure. It's why Rupp had better shoe deals than Kipchoge. The stories of the summer on the track are Cheptegei, Cheruiyot and Kiplimo and here we are again debating the guy who always finished runner up
The only thing I see is that certain people (and we know the type) are very disrespectful of whatever Jakob does. No one actually criticized Kiplimo or called him all kinds of names, wanted to kill him, insulted his family, etc. But you did that to Jakob. No one will forget that.
That just likely made a lot of people to stick behind Jakob even more and despise you. It's what happened with me. No one still spews constant hate against Tim or Jacob. That's your department.
Apparently your racist mind can't seem to grasp context. No one is running 3:28 AND 7:27 in the world right now besides...JAKOB!!!
Where were you when Farah ran a 3:28 and the announcers were going crazy as if he won the race?? Where were you ???

Two years ago he ran 800 (2.), 1500 (1.), 3000 SC (1), and 5000 (1., othkicking Sondre Nordstad Moen) in the Norwegian championship. With rounds in the 800 and 1500, it was quite a busy weekend for him!
I could be wrong, but doesn't he actually hold the European record now for the 1,500m? I thought Farah had it, and then Jakob lowered it in Monaco?

You are wrong. Records don't get ratified unless you win the race. Come aboard the Wigins train mate.
This is the blindness and lack of situational awareness that people find inexplicable. Jakob was beaten in each of the races where he ran those times. How can you with a straight face say no one is running those times in the world besides Jakob? U wanted someone to run that exact time? Those who ran faster don't count? What's this? A religion?
