Every time I want to dislike Jakob as a spoiled raised guinea pig of a runner, he just keeps getting faster. I will be highly disappointed if he does not go on to set every record from 1500 through 5000. He may not peak till 24.

You will be disappointed. Jakob will get NONE of those records. However, he really is running well.

Unless Kiplimo retires or peaks, Jakob is gonna be 2nd best his entire career at every distance he runs.
What an enormous amount of complete nonsense you're going to post again and again.
I'm always wondering if that's just what you want or if you are reelly that dumb.
Does getting mad change anything? Is Jakob the best at anything yet? Nope. 2nd.
Both Tim and Jacob are gonna be in his way for the next few years at least. Can't hate your way out of it.
Doubtful. Kind of like Kwemoi, Kiplimo will disappear. Tim will get popped.
PED PED PED PED PED PED PED PED PED PED ALERT!

A crazy run from a 19 year old lad, isn't it?
Agreed. 19 -year old Jacob Kiplimo is amazing! I wonder why we don't hear more about him on these boards.
What if jakob disappears, not saying that that will happen , but it's more likely for 1500m guys to peak early. Komen had his 1500 peak early , so did ryun, and kwemoi. If tim gets popped Jakobs wr chances go out the window in my opinion. Tim brings out jakobs best racing, most of his fastest times are against tim.
He could be pretty much at his peak for 1500 (Ryun peaked at 19) but I think he will keep improving at 5k/10k for years to come
Jakob is too big to reach the top at 5000 or 10,000.
My take is that Kiplimo was the favorite and that Jakob gave him a great fight. Kiplimo smoked Kamworor and gave Cheptegei a hell of a fight at World XC while Jakob struggled in the junior race. Kiplimo has been a top tier world class runner for much longer than Jakob.
These are times we haven't seen in over a decade. In my opinion, it is time to start talking about Komen's 3000 record eventually falling to Kiplimo, Jakob, or Cheptegei. It is highly unlikely, but this is the first time since the early 2000s that it has even been worth discussing.

Why shd Kiplimo disappear? This is wishful thinking. Why can't it be Jakob who disappears. In some wishful thinking world, the way ahead for Jakob suddenly clears for a 1500/5000 double gold at d Olympics. TC disappears, no one emerges from Ethiopia or Kenya or elsewhere. Edris, Cheptegei, et al all disappear for the 5k and no others emerge. Why will bad things happen to everyone else and great things only for Jakob? Is this normal?
I do not think he needs a Salazar figure, Gjert is doing just fine without doping his athletes. Salazar and the dodgy history, Jakob does not need
I doubt Kiplimo is faster than Jakob in an all out 100m, 200m or 400m for that matter. So speed is not the issue. It is about who has least lactate levels in their body when coming into the last 200m that matters. As long as the AT is improved the kick will not be a problem eventually.

Why does that rubbish keep getting repeated here? Ryun peaked at 20, not 19, and the reason he peaked at 20 rather than later is because he developed mono. What his story has to do with Jakob is anyone's guess. Are you seriously waiting any day now for Jakob to contact mono, pull his hamstring when recovering, then unexpectedly lose to a doped Kip Keino at altitude and subsequently lose all motivation?
Well we know Tim can't run 3:32 at altitude, potatoes or not.

A persons basic speed is fixed and cannot be altered much. However from 800 m up changes can be made thanks to increased strength. How fast was Cram at 400 m? Not much faster than Jacob. Can Jacob get his 800 m that time down to around 1:44.5 to 1:45.00?
This is where the cognoscenti who have more knowledge about him can chime in. He ran 146.4 for 800 this season with a training program which I am guessing was not specifically designed for 800 m so I still think he has progress at 800 m.
What is super impressive about Jacob is that he keeps his form right to the end and races even when they are super fast and extenuating. He does not seem to tie up. Great lactic acid tolerance buildup. It is also interesting that his father, who does not come from a science background or traditional training background for endurance running, has been so successful in engineering his sons to such greatness in middle distance running.

Jakob has been a top tier world class runner since bowerman mile in may 2018, long before Kiplimo. Jakob didn't go for the win, but for a great time, he said in a post race interview.
These are times we haven't seen for over two decades. However, kejelcha arguably did a better race, largely solo, in windy conditions in gothenburg last year clocking 7:28 flat.
