You should try to get into a The Athlete Special video now that he’s in Seattle.
I'm also planning to do a 600 meter time trial soon.
I did 4 x 300 with 4 minutes rest, 38, 38, 39, 42. Any idea on what my 600 time could be?

We would need to see a video of you doing this to determine what your time would be. What's your youtube page?
Thanks Matt, but I don't want to film this.
With your talent and very good sprint speed it`s possible. But don`t just tell us you will do it, do it!! Then of course 5000m/10000m is better distances for you, but you need a very good coach to tell you what to do every day if you will reach sub 14/ 29 .
- Jamin in Magic Fall- :) , that`s what we will see here in LRC live , coached by the magic wizard-
Why don't you hit up the Athlete Special for an episode and he can pace you? Solid effort.

Were you rigging on that 42? What's your background? I think anywhere from 1:19-1:24 is fair game
I’m doubtful you can go 1:30.
That’s cute - I did that in high school.
Some posters may have noticed how few college 200m-400m athletes or college 400m specialists with F.A.T. sub-47 400m are willing to race 600m indoors.
My theory: F.A.T. sub-47 400m athletes have a good thing going for them at college T&F. Most are getting a lot of money to participate in college T&F. F.A.T. sub-47 400m men are so valuable to a college T&F team due to 4 x 400m relay and either Drake Relays or Penn Relays or Texas Relays.
Obviously most F.A.T. sub-47 400m men have XC exemption. If F.A.T. sub-47 400m men race sub-82.5 seconds 600m on 100% 200m &/or 400m training, many 400m guys know at a minimum they may be asked to do modified XC training. Most 400m guys want nothing to do with XC. Note: My D-2 college coach wanted all 400m &/or 400mH specialist to try XC. My college coach was flexible with 400m guys.
if you are not a 400 guy who has experimented with the 800 at a bare minimum, you most likely are not running any 600s. Unless as just an experiment to get in shape. In those cases, really good 600 times are not specifically trained for or expected.

122 is a tough time. are you in 51 second 400 shape right now? 1:53 for the 800?
will you be paced? I think you might be lucky to run a 1:27 going solo. The 600 is a very difficult race.
1:22 = 1:54-55, so possible (with pacer) but not likely.
You do agree it is reasonable for a college T&F coach to ask 400m & 400mH athletes to race at least one 600m indoor race a season.
I would say that doing a 600m time trial right now is a very bad idea for you. Set a goal for a few months from now. This is just going to discourage you and make you more disillusioned from the sport you love.
I’m only saying this because I did a lot of similar things in the past.

You don’t need to be in 1:53 shape to run 1:22.
