Tristian Merchant out of Anchorage Alaska recently ran a 14:45 on Alaskan soil which is believed to be the fastest time ever on Alaskan soil by a high schooler. Trevor Dunbar and Levi Thomet both out of Kodiak have run similar times in high school at meets in other states. Now it is chilly this time of year in Alaska so I don’t know what he would run at other meets with warmer temps but it is something to ponder. Alaska could be looking at its next homegrown sub 4 miler.
