I recently inherited a large chunk of money - I knew I would receive something for the last few months but didn't know it would be that much.
I currently hate my job and want to totally reorient my life. This was the perfect opportunity to do that. I'm in the planning phase now and would love if my long time letsrun colleagues could chime in. A couple notes on me:
- I'm 34 and currently work as business analyst (fancy way of saying I translate business marketing data to spreadsheets and tableau presentations for the marketing director at my company)
- I want to take 3-5 years off. My intention is to first get a formal designation in something that I can enjoy doing for the rest of my life and then travel for about a year.
My next "job" / career / profession needs to be:
- Able to grow and learn and challenge myself. Right now I'm just churning numbers and doing the same thing every day. Not growing and can feel the brain cells dying.
- Remote/flexible. I don't want to work in an office. The landscape is changing so that a lot of professions can work from home now. I want to work from home or out in the "field" somewhere.
- Unique and in-demand. I would love to be an expert in some sort of little niche.
- Entrepreneurial. Would love something that I could one day be a freelancer/business owner.
