Riiiiight. Nothing shady about that WORLD RECORD. Everyone else suffered except a couple of East Africans. Yeah right.

There is the McDonalds reference. You didn’t let me down.

many Americans have ran faster than Jimmy Gressier, but the Frenchman is relatively new to running (started at age 16.5) and is still improving. Low mileage from 16-21. His curve can only get better. His 3:36 has a 3:54 mile equivalent. With that kind of basic speed, his 5000/10,000 potential could be around 13:00/27:00. Not on the level of Cheptegei/and Kiplimo, but very solid for a future thoner.

He most definitely does not. And more importantly, he does not have any impressive global championship results.
ummm ever heard of Matt Centrowitz?
3:30 and 13:02
The point about all this is that Jimmy Gressier, former soccer player turned elite runner, is showing improvement from month to month and year to year and we project, in France, that he will be a future top player in world athletics. Unless you know the man, and follow him closely, it would be difficult to make predictions about him but following him closely we can clearly see that he is a top player in running and his future is extremely bright because he started very late in athletics and he still has a lot of mileage in his legs unlike many of those US runners who are the midpoint or endpoints of their careers. Not dissing the US runners in any shape or form, because they are superb runners, but just stating that Jimmy belongs to that group of top elite athletes in the world and people are starting to take notice and become very scared of Jimmy. He has a very good reputation in the 10 with all the African athletes and Julian wanders included.
Sorry for the typo in the last two lines. The correction should read “Jimmy Gressier has a very good reputation in Iten with all the African athletes and Europeans that he has trained with there including his friend Julien Wanders another white phenom.”
Jimmy Gressier, should command respect as his determination to task and his fighting spirit are right at the very top of the scale. His many years at the top of division two football (youth division ) have served him well in terms of being able to deal with aggressiveness and toughness. He was good enough to garner interest from clubs in France at the DH level which is semi professional. The age level players in France are usually paid around €1500 per month and are given a part-time job to bring their total salary up to around €2500 per month. What is solid upper middle class in France.
Now if he can only curb his addiction to McDonald’s and KFC that would be the next step in the progression chart.

There were several typos in the above lines, sorry.
The corrected version should read: “the DH (division d’honneur ) level players in France are usually paid around €1500 per month and are given part time jobs to bring their total salary up to around €2500 per month. That is solid upper middle class in France.«

Please. None of those have been faster than him this year in both the 1500 & 5000.
He's clearly a faster guy than any of those at this point. 3:36 flat.
It's really not only that. Once you throw in the fact that his 13:18 & 27:43 road 5 & 10ks would both be the fastest of all time for an American then you really start to realize what a talent he is.

He has not run faster at both 1500 and 5000 this year than McGorty, Fisher, Lomong, Jager or Hill. His 13:15.77 doesn’t beat any of them.
Bonus kfc and McDonalds reference.
I don’t care about him until he accomplishes something at a global championship. I do care about correcting falsehoods posted by the other poster.

27:43 road 10k is not the fastest for an American.

Remember the Crescent City Classic in 1984, when Mark Nenow smashed the existing road 10k world record with an amazing time of 27:22 and Kenyan Michael Musyoki and Britain Nick Rose also broke the existing World Record?
I wonder what that time would have been on a track?
Put Nenow in some modern shoes alone and he's low 27s

+1
Mcgorty at 3:37.1 and Fisher at 3:36.2 to boot.
McGorty and Fisher ran 3:37/3:36 in Time trial races if I’m not mistaken. Not criticizing those two athletes because they are very strong but I think those time trial races have a distinct advantage over regular races even though the regular races also have designated rabbits. A perfect example is the race that Kincaid ran when he achieved sub 13. I doubt that he will ever have the chance to do that again and once again not criticizing or dissing those American runners because they are very good in their own right but these time trial races have a distinct advantage.
I think that if Jimmy had had the opportunity to run in a type of time trial race like that, his present times would be around 334 and 1305, McDonald’s and KFC consumption calories included.
Gressier is in reality a mediocre runner from a global point of view. Maybe he has the potential to medal in the european championship, but nothing more. Also comes off really bad that he says hes a european champion on his instagram, when in reality hes just u23 european champion.
Cool. Your opinion of what he might be capable of is noted. But in the meantime in reality, it is factually inaccurate to state that he has a better 1500m/5000m than all American runners.

There they are again ^^
I don't even see him winning a medal at the european level. The truth is that he isn't even among the top 3 or 4 most talented european 5k/10k runners.
