I don't know who he is, but he is the Future of Distance Running, he EASILY covered the most distance, obviously he is EXTREMELY INEXPERIENCED running the whole race in the mid lanes, he was using his arms too much it looked like he was sprinting the whole time, once he gets a good Coach to show him better tactics, he will bring The World Records to a new level. We saw The next great runner today.
10/10
Lane 3 mystery runner should jump in the 10,000 WR attempt. Would be a great race. Side note: I think his cadence might be close 250.

This man may revolutionize distance running with that kind of cadence, I think I'll have my high schoolers try out higher cadences like that and see if it helps us finally win counties!
Definitely creepy.
He is sammy kitwara
That strange man in lane 3 cast no shadow on the track. He is a computer digitised man showing the position of current world record pace comparing to the runners pace. Same also a digitised woman in the women's race.

Lies. Clearly it was Sammy Wanjiru. He's been training and is fit, expect big things.
Mo would have lost if that guy chose to run in lane one, he obviously covered more distance, but I guess he knew Mo needed a handicap.
Actually the first time I saw that it was “what the heck.”
That mystery runner was speeding up at every turn and slowing down on straight. It was like he was doing some kind of mild faltrek. He could run much faster if he maintained a constant pace.
Did anyone else notice that at times Sammy, in lane three, was 20 meters ahead or behind the green lights also signaling WR pace?

Mystery solved! It's Henry Rono making a comeback.

Really? We had no idea. Thanks for explaining.
This thread is useless without pics/vid.
Were there glasses on the camera?
For anyone who doesn’t know, check it:
There was no actual runner in lane 4 (not lane 3). At 2:02 mark showed starting of 13 runners. At 2:52 mark there was still no runner on lane 4, the strange man appeared at 2:59 mark, it is a superimposed computer generated / digitised image of the current world record pace comparing to the runners' pace. This image appeared on 2:59 mark again to become "14" runners. It appeared on and off and there was no shadow cast from this "man" compared to other runners at 4:11 mark.
This "man" was always encircled with a ring and "WR" signifying current World Record pace.
Hope this explanation helps.

CONGRATULATIONS TO MOHAMMED FARAH. THE NEW WORLD RECORD HOLDER.
Cheating with a 240-cadence superhuman pacing you way out in lane 3/4 is cheating! That record does not count. The lights were bad enough.
