New WR 21 330 m
New WR 21 330 m
I didn't think it would be possible but somehow they managed to miss the break in the 1 hour run.
Do these tv guys take classes on how to make sure that distance fans miss the point where the lead changes for the final time in the race? It always happens in the marathon and somehow happened again in this one as they decided we needed to see the guy shoot the gun to signify 1 minute to go.
Is Abdi the slowest ever WR holder??? Out of nowhere...

Congratulations to Farah on the World Record, but I was most impressed by the Man running the ENTIRE Race in lane 3-4, the Arm Carriage made it look like he was sprinting the whole Way, he CLEARLY ran the furthest Distance, he must be new to racing, hopefully he can get a Coach that explains to him, you are running a lot more Distance running in the Mid Lanes, That Runner has A World of Potential, always great to see new talents emerge.
Did anyone get the Half Marathon Split? Thank You in Advance.
With all due respect to the new WR, we must remember that he essentially ran 4:30 miles for 1 hour. This is not even equivalent to a sub 59 min half marathon. Kipchoge ran close to this pace for twice the amount of time...
The roads are much faster for distances likes these. All the turning has to be worth a good amount of time, and he isn’t wearing alphaflys.
He went through half in 59:21 I think. On the roads with shoes actually made for the event I think he could run around 58:40 or so.

Cheating with cheater lights is cheating. How the hell can this stuff be certified as world records? Blatant technical assistance.
That looked totally fixed. Abdi would have won that (and broken both records) if he didn't let up. Obviously it's a good business decision for both of them, but very disappointing that it was done so obviously.
Well, the Belgium Meet was a dud! Both Men's & Women's One Hour "races." !! Zero Americans ....
Is this another one of the Diamond League events where the announcers (Paul Swangard, Alysia Montaño & Ato Bolden) all ensconced in the comfy NBC Studio in Westlake Village, California?
But, we are "led to believe" they are live at the Brussels Stadium in Belgium?
Why don't they just disclose it? Did you notice for the second consecutive Diamond League event they did not show 'live shots' of the announcers?
He’s due to run a half marathon in Northern Ireland next Saturday (Antrim coast half), so we’ll get a chance to see how he performs on the road .
