This is pretty heavy....
Surprised that it took this long for current/former employees to push for change but in the petition, there aren't any incidents of racism, bias, and bullying. I'm sure it doesn't help that NYRR laid off half of their employees when they have plenty of money that they are holding as investments. Lots of disgruntled employees and former employees.
So...what are the specific complaints? Seems like a whole lot of "systemic this, institutional that" without any actual concrete examples.
Check the Instagram link and scroll through the posts.
They're not going to fire him.
In order to reform NYRR, there needs to be more evidence. Video or audio recordings are needed to verify the instagram stories. The instagram posts just seems like it is run by 1 disgruntled employee.
This reeks of just piling on the BLM and #metoo movements without a stitch of supporting evidence. Are people surprised that an entity that hosts races that cannot host races for 10 months out of the year, which includes to race that funds everything (the NYC Marathon), had to lay off a lot of employees? Do these disgruntled former employees think that they still should have their jobs even though there is no work for them to do?
What are the specific allegations against Capiraso?
That all seems kind of weak.
Also, I think Change.org petitions are a joke. People sign any petition without knowing what they're signing or why and most have no connection or interest in the subject. e.g Kanye West ballot petition.
The only specific allegation is that Capiraso is grossly overpaid. He definitely needs a larger pay cut especially after laying half 51% of NYRR employees.
Critical race theory is seeping into all areas of society. Running is one of the most democratic activities imaginable, and this anonymous, juvenile slander needs to be stopped in its tracks. NO MORE!

And that provides no support other than stating that he is paid a lot more than the average non-profit in NYC (ignoring the fact that NYRR is much larger than the average non-profit in NYC). If you adjust for revenue, I believe he is very undercompensated. This is setting up as a nice libel lawsuit.
Interesting, he deleted that tweet (I screencapped assuming it might come down):
Also above is the likely motive (getting furloughed on August 1).
FWIW I don't have a horse in this race. But it seems wrong to hide behind an anonymous account and to smear a person (and a large, great organization) with (seemingly unfounded) accusations of racism/harassment. I apologize in advance if this person wasn't the culprit, but his name showed up on the petition page as the author...I've never heard of this person before!
Well it looks like NYRR will know where to serve him if they decide to sue him for libel. He seems like a little weasel.
If you sign a petition on change.org and share the link with others afterwards it will show your name and say person X wants to you join them (or something like that) Look at the entire URL, it was a share link.

There are a few specific complaints and a lot of SJW buzzwords . The whistleblower is obsessed with viewing everything with race and sex. They may have some valid complaints but the kitchen sink approach makes me less likely to support their cause
Specific complaint
https://www.instagram.com/p/CElArh6n6-b/?igshid=axhc9sl2m0z6This has nothing to do with specific complaints
https://www.instagram.com/p/CElAAJiH0Kx/?igshid=dy8rn4r1nn0vAnd of course they pay the cops. The city makes them pay for the services for their races
https://www.instagram.com/p/CEk9c6OnSn3/?igshid=1ibznj8go5wu8This sounds totally unbelievable

This post is exactly right and is exactly what is happening.
Yeah these IG posts have put me firmly in the camp of current management being attacked by employees that were let go who are undermining real issues of the "isms" they are accusing NYRR of. Not a fan.
Ha! That insta post about not mentioning Jesse Owens sounds like satire from the Babylon Bee. Right, don't want to offend neo-nazis. What total BS!
And the one complaining about paying NYPD. So then, does that complainer want to end the NYC Marathon for good? No police, no marathon, it's that simple. Is that how the rebuild NYRR?!!!
This group has no credibility given statements like those.
No actual Latino people say "Latinx," so this is definitely a white SJW complaint.
