They will not stay in my ears. The apps says the fit is good. For noise cancellation on a 14 yr flight to Tokyo, they are great!
For running, they are awful. They are getting returned. I tried every size bud, but none worked.
Going back to the other AirPods which have never fallen out of my ears, even when falling on muddy trails.
I bought the pro for the water/sweat resistance, but if they won't stay in the ear, they gotta go.

Well you should run without the crutch of music.
You will be a better runner because of that. -

Mine are the same way. I've been considering returning them for a while now, but haven't gotten around to it. I definitely don't think they're worth the price.
-
Long runs are when I catch up on podcasts - crutch or not, it's time management ;)
I agree w you on the AirPods.... I use the Powerbeats pro - with the over the ear piece - they stay in, and have been through some pretty tough times in the southern heat and humidity - I keep them out of downpours, but light rain seems to do no harm so far.
Good luck tracking down something that works. -

So they won’t stay in “your” ears they must suck for EVERYONE?
I’ve logged thousands of miles and never had one fall out once. My wife wears hers paddleboarding and they’ve never fallen out. Even when she fell in the water v -

Curious...please explain this to me. How is music a crutch, and how does it make me a worse runner? -

Really now? 😏 -
I've had the same trouble, and am constantly pushing them back in during runs because they feel like they might pop out. Tried every size. I finally bought some elago ear hooks from amazon for $13. Not a perfect solution, but they help and now I know they won't pop out and fall to the ground.

I have a small personal hack that I'd like to share.
I think I have oddly sized ear holes because I also have an issue with most ear buds falling out. Doesn't seem to be a problem for most people, so chalked it up to a personal shortcoming :)
On a treadmill in a hotel on work trip, I noticed that the gym-issues ear buds stayed in my ears extremely well. These are those cheap disposable ones that come in the plastic packaging. I figured out it was the old-school foam covers making them so secure, so I ordered a bunch from amazon and use them on my running earbuds.
Works like a charm, though there is a very slight muffling that is negligible.
Also, a bonus in summer is that it keeps earbuds dry from sweat.
I got a pack of 25 pairs for like $3 and have been on the first pair since before COVID. -
These:

They fit right over normal ear buds, regardless of size/shape, and have eliminated the problem.
Hope this helps. -
I finally got air pods this summer, I have worn them probably 10-15 times, distances between 5-10 miles. I haven't really had any problem with them falling out, a few times I was sweating a lot and taking them out to wipe the sweat off can make them a little annoying, but overall don't have any problems with them.

My AirPod pros have performed surprisingly well on all of my runs. Once I start sweating I find myself needing to push them back in occasionally, but they’ve never flat out fallen out of my ears.

Two weeks ago, I found a left Airpod Pro on a trail, then on the same run about 10 miles away found an Airpod Pro charging case. Yesterday, out in the middle of nowhere, a bikie asked me if I lost an Airpod. I said, "yeah, yeah!!! I did. " He gave me a right Airpod Pro that he found about 10 miles from either the first Airpod Pro and the case. Everything syncs up and works great with my ipod nano.

Same experience. The original AirPods work great but the Pro just wants to fall to the ground. -
Powerbeats pro...The best all around option. Great for running and gym. Battery is amazing, the are super secure and you can leave one at home if you want to only listen to one ear for safety. When you have both in, if you pull one off it pause your pod and when you put it back in it starts again.
