The old WR must go, surely?

Assuredly. I would think Kosgei is closer to being capable of 20k than not. It sounds ludicrous, but that should be around 63:18 pace; Brigid ran 64:28 at the Great north run, and of course 2:14:04 off an aggressive 15:3x opening 5k in her spectacular Chicago showing. With Ababel Yeshaneh (64:31) in the mix as well, and Hassan, one expects something jaw-dropping.
I can't in good faith predict 20k since it would require an extremely aggressive <15:10, <30:20 opening, but something in the neighborhood of 19-19.5k seems to be expected. I wold hope for an opening 10k of 30:30-31:00, if not more aggressive. Can't wait to see!
What a waste of time.
What else is on the schedule for Brussels??
Heard there's a men's 1500 with Engels in it as well.
If it's only 7 days and 2 runners then this could be your first ever 1 page thread. Where's the profiles?
So readers might actually read Aussiestatman’s thread
We could stretch it out to a second page.

Or probably a 3rd or a 4th if doping is explored as an avenue to engage in debate. Are these runners clean? What shoes are they wearing? Is there a wave light involved? Are gender tests being conducted?
Snore. Two full throttle dopers battle it out. Great fun...

I'm interested in the shoes with the new 25mm rule in action. Obviously no road supershoes so perhaps a time not as fast as what could be run on the road.
Hassan doesn't look to be in form right now based off her only race this season. She probably will get beat and finish well below our expectations. She needs more time to train to regain fitness. I remember reading that her training hasn't gone well in Ethiopia due to the political stuff going on there.

I feel dirty just in reading the two names together in one sentence. Is it possible to get a second hand positive?

Another thread mentioned Farah wearing Dragonfly spikes. I’d expect Hassan and Kosgei to do the same.
+1 for Hassan DNF. Big fan but not fit RN.
+1 for Kosgei hopefully getting popped

No, Hassan is lazy. When she was in NL she couldn't be bothered to train more than once a day. Her connection with Salazar worked because she really needs an obsessive micromanager.

Maybe even DNS

Is it possible to "DNF" a race with no finish line?
How is it Hassan can be so unfit she has to drop out of the Monaco 5,000 and then go for a world record a few weeks later? Something doesn't compute.

Interesting. If her position is marked where she steps off the track, no? She could 'DNF' at 10000m and get that distance in one hour? Or does she still have to be in motion?

I consider Hassan highly suspicious, but to be fair she may well have been capable of beating Weightman and running low-14:30s in Monaco, which is already a superior performance to the weak hour WR (18,517)
The women’s hour WR is probably equivalent to 68-high for the half (it’s a ~68:23 pace)—Hassan has run 65:15 for that distance, giving her some room to be “out of shape.”
Kosgei merely has to run her marathon WR pace and she shatters the existing mark.
