How amazing is the team of Muir/Reekie right now? It would've been great if they could have gone up against Bowerman Babes at some point, maybe with Purrier thrown into the mix.
Also is DeBues-Stafford taking the season off like Johnson?

It was bit disappointing, but I think Cheruiyot thought it was too windy to run for the WR. His first comment post-race was too say it was windy, which indicated to me he was running FTW despite the good pacemaking.
All three are superbly talented, as all world class athletes are.
Warholm just ran 45.05 on tired legs. He's run 45.05 indoors as well. He may be the best 400m runner of the 3, (though 44.3 is nothing to snease at by Benjamin)
Warholm has an 100m PB of only 10.49, albiet from 2017 and he's clearly a much better athlete now, but Benjamin clearly has him beat in raw speed. But Warholm has the better speed endurance, as clearly demonstrated when he outran Benjamin in the last 100m when they both went under 47 last year. And while Benjamin's 200m PB is superior, Warholms indoor 200m is not to far behind...
All three of them work very hard, you have too if you want to compete over 400m... you have to if you want to be a world class athlete, the talent is a difference between them and the layman but to be competitive at the highest level of sport your mentality has to be superb. Why is Warholms just "better"?
Why is Samba supposedly a better, faster, athlete? His 200m PB is slower than Warholms (Warholms even run faster than Samba has outdoors indoors), their 400m PBs are about the same...
It's absolutely not clear that Samba and Benjamin have more speed when you watch them race... if anything Benjamin has the best hurdling technique of the 3, though all of them are good... Warholm goes out like a jet, often with a better start than Benjamin, the purest sprinter of the 3, and always out runs him on the home straight...
His decathlon experience may explain his endurance, but surely that also has to do with talent as well, it's not just like anyone can train like Kipchoge????
Their "morphology" is better?!?!??!!
Let's address the elephant in the room here. Samba and Benjamin are better natural talents because they are Africans, and Warholm is the superior mind because he is European...
Pathetic...

Also worth noting, Tim closed his last 100 in 13.1 and Jakob could only manage 13.4. Unlike last week where Tim really just held him off, this time he pulled away.

He is like the reincarnation of Bayi at his peak: can go out at a blistering pace, front run then kick again on the final straight.
Only Bayi was above reproach on the pharma side of things.

Muir was paced perfectly to cruise and then drop the hammer the last 400. It’s a shame Kipyegon opted not to race. Is it because she wants to put all her eggs into one basket for a very fast 1500?
How many more chances for a fast women's 1500 are there going to be this year? One or two at best, I guess.

Warholm's run 44.87/44.91/45.05. His best 200m is not listed on all-time athletics. Samba's got an edge here as well. .
Wha? Warholm has a run a 200 of 21.09 with a +0.4 wind. Sambas best is a 21.14 with a +1.5 wind. You kiddin me?

Another loss by Jakob due to his limited sprint speed. Remember when everyone, including his coach, said after his 1:46.44 800m earlier this summer that this is proof he got all the speed he needs to win championship races? It does not look like it at all, and seems to be exactly the thing holding him back now.
The pleasure you get from trashing this 19 year old, 8th fastest human ever over 1500m is boarder-line sexual. Give it a rest and get yourself off some other way.
Well Stockholm is not it considering how windy it is. There are a few Diamond Leagues left. Lausanne/Brussels in the next 2 weekSand then there is Rome to close it out. No idea if any smaller meets will go for it.

Anyone have any streaming links? NBC has totally dropped the ball here.
I have a CBC/BBC1 Stream at my home . I think you have to join the CBC Members Club. $99 per year . Programming is not free .

Even better, he's run a 20.91 200m indoors...
thanks man...all good

J I needs to start building way earlier than the last 90 m.
Maybe as he matures he will find that exxtra s trength. As it was there was no route left for him when the other guy moved out onto the line and effectively took away his only shot at passing him
maybe el gherrouj will reincarnate into him

11/11 - Tim is his DADDY.
How many times did Cram lose to Ovett and Coe before he beat them?
The thing is, once Jakob beats Tim, he might never lose to him again.
I hope Tim doesn't get busted like Manangoi and Kiprop, and maybe at least for the first half of next season, Jakob and Tim racing will be a coin toss to pick the winner.
tim will remain better than jakob for a long time
I think people are sleeping on Warholm's 100/200/400 flat speed. Warholm's 100/200m times are from when he was still a decathlete, 20.91 set indoor almost 4 years ago. His 400m time of 44.87 is also 3 years old. His 45.05 indoor time he set one and a half years ago equals 44.16 when looking at IAAF points table. Running 45.05 right after running the 400h in 46.87 shows us that he is easily capable of running very low 44s, or maybe even high 43s.
Looking at the times of Rai Benjamin, he was no better than Warholm at the 400/200/100 4-5 years ago when looking at their times - the only difference is that Benjamin has been running the 100/200/400m recently, wheras warholm hasn't(at least not with fresh legs)

She kept training pretty hard during lockdown, did some time trials with herself and her sister - I think there was a Canadian running article on her pacing Lucia Stafford to a 15:45 on gravel and carrying on to a 21:50 7km and later paced Lucia to a 4:09 on track. Then earlier this month it looks like she paced/(raced?) Lucia in a 1000m race and then did a 400m 15 minutes later - which definitely has a "tick the boxes in the Nike contract" vibe to it.
The only thing on her social media (posts or tagged) since that 1000m/400m is a picture of her with dyed hair and ice cream with #offszn in the caption so looks like she is on a break right now same as Bowerman. Really curious how she is going to go as an addition to the group.
