What 400m flat time do you guys think Warholm is capable at his current form? 45.05 indoor 1.5 years ago equals 44.16 outdoor according to IAAF points table, and his 44.87 400m PR was set over 3 years ago - which was the last time he actually ran the 400m without a 400h in his legs the same day/day before.
What do you guys think? 44-44.3?

don't care about your time, but you're wasting mine. learn to read instead of making multiple posts before even figuring out what's going on. throws are overrated in decathlon. ashton is a weaker thrower but superior overal athlete. the end
Because Ashton is a weaker thrower obviously means Mayer is the superior athlete. You NEED athletic ability to throw. That is kind of why he is the WR holder and Ashton is not. Ashton himself recognized the superior athlete.
they're too technical and not diverse enough. ashton is superior in the main (and more) disciplines, so you'll agree with me- he's the superior athlete
eaton>mayer

World class hurdlers race amazing times for their true speed. Warholm, I am sure is still not sprinting 100m any faster than 10.5x. Warholm, I am sure is still not sprinting 200m any faster than 21.xx. He's no faster than 44.50 400m. On another thread, posters were amazed he was able to race low 45 400m. That stuff happens.

Four years ago he had just set a new 400m hurdles PR of 48:49. Earlier 2016 he has run 10.52, 10.54, 10.55, 10.58, 10.61.
What makes you think that an improvement of his 400mh PR to world record level during the last 4 years does not mean that he has improved his 100m abilities?
he has a pr of 10.49 from one indoor meet with no tapering from the beginning of 2017. He controlled to a 44.91 in the semi finals of european championships 2018. He is definitely in shape to beat the european record of 44.33 now
Last time I saw a movie it was Cheruiyots of fire.

He's been training for 400mH & 400m, that does not mean Warholm has gotten faster at 100m & 200m. There are two kinds of elite 400mH, the 400mH guys who race 400mH less than 2 seconds slower than 400m best and the real fast 200m guys who race 400mH more than 2 seconds slower than 400m PB. So far, at age 24, Warholm races 400mH less than 2 seconds slower than 400m best. Poster, how much have you improved your 200m best past age 22?

AND the next norwegian in decathlon, Markus Rooth, 18 yrs - 8238. And soon he will be accused of doping on these threads.
Dumb.
Mayer WR: (9126)
100m- 10.55 -- Long jump-7.80 -- Shot put- 16.00 -- High jump-2.05 -- 400m-48.42
110H- 13.75 -- discus-50.54 -- Pole vault-5.45 -- Javelin-71.90 -- 1500m-4:36
Eaton PR: (9045)
100m- 10.23 -- Long jump-7.88 -- Shot put- 14.52 -- High jump-2.01 -- 400m-45.00
110H- 13.69 -- discus-43.34 -- Pole vault-5.20 -- Javelin-63.6 -- 1500m-4:17
Mayer got Shot put, high jump, discus, pole vault, javelin = 5
Eaton got 100, long jump, 400, 110h, & 1500 = 5
So Mayer is better at 5. Eaton is better at other 5.
Most important:
1)Strength (shot put, discus, javelin)- advantage Mayer
2)Speed (100, 110, 400, 1500)- advantage Eaton
3)Jumping (long jump, high jump)- advantage Mayer
4)#1 all around athletic skill (pole vault) advantage Mayer
So, its Mayer by a landslide. That is also why Mayers WR is almost 100 points ahead of Eaton.
It is not even close. You have to be truly dumb and in extreme denial to think otherwise.
Mayer is not just better but waaaay better.

I don't know how much Warholm has progressed between age 20 and 22 compared to age 22 and 24. However I feel confident that Warholm has progressed significantly in the 100m since he was 20 years old.
This is some matt_london level intelligence, bro
well, he's last all out 400m was a season opener in 2017 at 44.87. the same year he ran 48.22 in 400mh. If you think that is he's potential in 400m now, i guess you are a fan of Rai Benjamin...

His 200m PB Indoor is sub 21(20.91).... set almost 4 years ago. His 400m indoor PB at that exact time was 45.96. You really think he hasn't improved his 200m time in 4 years when he improved his 400m indoor time by almost a full second during the same time?
Warholm will take the record but i think Rai will take the record in the next few years he. Is one of the fastest us 400m runners(could definitely make the us team), he has very good hurdling technique, and he's 2 years younger than warholm and samba, he is has alot of room for improvement but then again samba and warholm do to
How did you get 2 yrs younger than Warholm? Benjamin is a year and few months younger.
Not sure Benjamin has more to develop than Warholm. I believe he has been focusing on the 400/400H longer than Warholm has. Warholm focused on the decathlon earlier.
Although I do think the deca has helped him strength wise. He is running as much more powerfully built than Benjamin. 6'2" 176 lbs vs 6"3" 169lbs

There had been talk about him attacking that old European 400m flat record but I don't know if he will try in the current season.
pffft tripe
so eaton didn't even get it all right in that dec and still set a wr cause he's a beast
mayer overachieved and still only beat him through the unnecessary throwing nonsense
most important:
1. speed: absolutely ashton clearly superior
2. jumps: ashton overall superior, somehow underscored in that one and still beat wr
3. endurance: only the 1500 available, should scrap jav and discus to extend. inexplicably massive ashton win, also has better pr despite being a much better sprinter too
4. shot put- the only throws needed. congrats overgrown kevin!
5? overall athletic skill? lol another technical event, but still their pr's are practically the same
pretty bad for little mayerito, and that's even before you look at their absolute pr's in each event
ashton is very obviously a vastly superior athlete. undeniable. FACT
