Does the win require a drug test ?
Does the win require a drug test ?
Killian decided to skip the race this year and is doing a training run up and down Everest.

It would be nice if they would randomly pull participants, to strike the 'fear' of getting caught. Last year's Pikes Peak thread had some interesting comments, from Sage, etc.

They changed the finish line clock, and now it is ~40 seconds ahead of the summit clock.
The finish line clock is still 42 seconds ahead of the summit clock.
Also, the current results on the race site are jacked up. They seem to have adjusted David Sinclair's time by @1:00 based on the top men starting a minute behind the women, but Seth still shows as clock time. So we may have to find out from Seth if he ran 3:37:32 or 3:36:32.

Honestly, I was so excited when he hit the summit in ~2:10 (after reading comments in the video chat that Seth Ruhling was leading) that I shouted out so loud my neighbors could probably hear me.
Tomorrow's vlog could be epic with some added viewer footage.
Nice work, Seth!

Winner, winner, chicken dinner.
Running in 'smoky' conditions, 35yr-old SJD's ascent half in the PPM was only 17 seconds behind Kilian Jornet's ascent in last year's PPM, and only 30 seconds behind Joseph Gray's time in last year's PP Ascent.
That's pretty incredible, he PR'd in the ascent ('19 ascent was 2:12 iirc) before going downhill.

He was wearing the INOV8 X-Talon G210's. You can hear it straight from the source @ approximately the 9:40min mark in today's vlog:

Why do you say he changed his mind.? He picked that shoe for his previous two race wins this summer, after setting huge mountain FKT's in them.

Seth likes the lug depth on those shoes in order to dig into the mountain. However, something to consider with a big lug depth is the danger of 'catching a rock' (tripping), particularly when tired, on the downhills.
Indeed, tripping on the downhill happened in his Kendal Mountain win earlier this summer:

Yep his time has officially been adjusted to 3:36:31 now. 2:09:29 summit split.
It'd be nice to see Sage Canaday congrulate SJD but it would never happen. He's too jealous and out of shape.

Can't speak for Sage, but sub 2:10 ascent is elite. And in some of the worst AQI conditions ever, impressive.
Will Seth come back next year to defend his title, likely with more competition?

Last year was the most competitive ever with all the international hotshots , and yet Seth's time today would have been 2nd place finish behind Kilian .
If Jornet doesn't show up next year then its Seth's to lose.
How would Walmsley do at PP I wonder? Not the best incline runner
