lol
"Yes. Rotich likes fast races." Said in the most awkward way. Who is this woman? Surely NBC can do better. The male announcer wasn't fantastic either, but she was terrible.
Amy Cragg and yeah I was confused why she was hyping up Craig Engels' speed in that moment
She was awkward, but would you rather have an unprofessional sounding former distance runner or a professional announcer that doesn't know anything about distance?

Well, she killed two birds with one stone. She sounded like an unprofessional sounding former distance runner AND she sounded like she didn't know anything about distance.
She was correct in implying Engels wasn't going so fast before the last 1500m.

Are you sure it wasn’t Carrie Tollefson?
My favorite part is when Jakob finishes and run 3:28, behind Tim.
"Jakob Ingebrigtsen was right on his heels, has to be a PR for him as well."
I've never heard such an unprepared announcer not knowing what the PR of one of the leading characters in the entire broadcast and race. Why did she not memorize his PR, the family record, the Norwegian record, and the European record or reference the great stats provided by NBC during the broadcast?"
A little out of her league, but perhaps she can improve. Obviously she did well in the screening process. They've given all these athletes a chance, some will make it some will not. Quigley was given a shot, that did not work out. Shalane was given a shot, that did not work out. Sanya Richards-Ross has been great.
Let's see who's next.
As Bryce Hoppel was closing on Donovan Brazier over the final 50 meters in the 800 she said something about Brazier having a kick that is second to none.

Noah Droddy should get a crack at it.
If we get a non runner, give us Pat Macafee!

Speaking of that race, I was more impressed with Hoppel's run. He keeps improving, he could be a contender right along with Brazier next year for Gold. He has taken more than a second off his 800 meter time each of the past 4 years, now at 1:43.23. He is now 0.89 seconds from the American record/Brazier's PR.

Give it another year and Hoppel has a new American Record

Yeah, there's some work to be done. If you listened to Chris Derrick doing the Bowerman meets, I think he's someone to be looked at to take over for Craig Masback as the lead distance commentator. I do think they would like to have a female distance commentator, but the best candidates might not be retired yet in Jenny Simpson or Emma Coburn.
I think Centro would’ve been a very good announcer with his personality and knowledge of the sport.
A professional marathoner announcing professional track and field is a bad fit.

also an olympian at 10,000 meters though
Derricks commentary during the NXN races is also right on; I agree he (if he wants) belongs doing more major competition commentary and would be an upgrade.
Is dick vitale still alive?
“Chelimo slams his way through the line for a medal. Yeah baby. That’s how you get it done for America.”
Give Billy Toad Cvecko a shot at the big time.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
Rest in Peace Adrian Lehmann - 2:11 Swiss marathoner. Dies of heart attack.
