Back in early may I got an MRI of my left tibia and the results showed a stress reaction about 3 centimeters above the malleolus on the inside of the tibia.
I was in a boot for 6 weeks where I had basically 0 exercise besides glute/core work. I had another week or two out of the boot but no running. After that I built up running every other day and am now at the point where I’m doing 30/40 minutes every other day.
This is the issue...I’m still feeling some kind of discomfort pretty much every day. It rarely ever hurts, but it rarely ever feels normal either.
I would describe the feeling as tight, weak, or sore.
I finished the whole PT schedule. My trainer has helped me greatly and the past and worked with a lot of pro runners as well so them. They said that the discomfort is normal, as long as it doesn’t get worse when/after I run or if taking time off doesn’t help it.
That being said, a second opinion can’t hurt.
When those feelings of soreness or whatever get real bad I almost think I should take two weeks off of no running at all again, and then the next day I’ll feel 99% of my old self. Just don’t know what to do.
