With the new pairs of Nike spikes launched into the market (and sold out in a very short period of time), they seems like the game-changer in the mid-distance and distance events.
Comes Nike Air Zoom Victory, air bags in the forefoot and ZoomX cushioning. And Nike ZoomX Dragonfly, full length ZoomX cushioning. The manipulation of the AlphaFly into the track spikes.
For me, I'm not really a big fan of these thick soles gizmos as I tend to run very much slower in the high stack height Zoom Fly. But still, I am keen on getting one of those Air Zoom Victories when they drop again. I think that the shorter events like the half mile or the 800m will be less affected while the longer events like the 5k up will be affected quite a bit. With thicker soles, won't unleashing a last lap kick be much more difficult?
I am still sticking with my Mamba V (5k runner) for awhile. But, what about you? What will be on your feet for what event? Any reasons why you would choose that shoe against the traditional pairs/new hyped thick soles?
