Asked my MD about the bottom line with Covid 19 from his perspective today-his reply

See how the only thing that separates our stories is whether people tend to believe me? Even if true, your MD is not an epidemiologist. Nor are they an economist. Nor do they have any meaningful experience with public health. They deal mostly with medical insurance, that's where their head is at. "Must not spend more than 14 mins with patients on average" ... "yeah let's chit chat about covid, jackss"

I work in a practice with well over a thousand doctors. I've found that their attitudes about Covid pretty much exactly align with what you see on this board. Those that think it's way overboard and barely worse than the flu, those that think it's a national emergency and will kill millions and those in the middle.

FWIW, we are seeing about 3% getting it are dying and the average age of death is over 70 with comorbidities. Black males are the primary ethnic and gender group affected.

We don't need to ask anyone about it. The information's all out there. 167,000+ have died of COVID in the U.S. with over 700,000 dead worldwide, almost all since late March.

You should find a new doctor. Yours is like the doctor who says, 'eh, heart disease isn't great but what re you gonna do?'

I wear a mask every time I go around other people. I practice social distancing. I wash my hands frequently. I definitely agree with this physicians thoughts on the virus.

Did I understand you correctly? What you are saying is that stating facts is the same thing as "hiding in one's mom's basement"? Is that right?

Doctors have big egos and think that they can become experts on any area of medicine just by perusing some journal articles. I used to work at a law firm that did a lot of medical malpractice. I can tell you with certainty that doctors are very human and fallible.

My wife works in schools as a speech pathologist. Her coworker is 6 months pregnant and is having a very difficult pregnancy. She asked her doctor for a note so she could take FMLA and not have to go back to school (I am in Texas where the infection rate just hit 24%). Her doctor said no. He said that there was no evidence of miscarriages connected to COVID 19 exposure. Of course, the coworker had been reading up on COVID and pregnancy and told the doctor that she saw studies showing that pregnant women have a higher risk for hospitalization and ending up in the ICU. The doctor told her that he hadn't seen the studies. She ended up quitting her job.

My doctor told me to lose weight by running 3 miles per day and to check back in with him in a month.

When I called him, he asked how things were going.

I told him "Good. I've lost a few pounds but I'm 90 miles from home. How long should I keep this up for? My wife is starting to wonder when I'm coming home"

The reason old jokes don't work as well anymore, is because the humor is an ancient ancestor of modern jokes. The punchline usually leaves me with a "yes, and...?" feeling.. Kind of like if I ate something that a neanderthal insisted was very very sweet. "Bro, have you heard of pixie stix??"

I had a physical about 2 weeks ago and asked my doctor the same thing. For the most part he said the same thing. He also added as a concern people that smoke or have a compromised respiratory system to begin with.

My doctor was more pessimistic about a vaccine (or at least it effectiveness) and did not offer an opinion re the flu season. That said, he did not seem overly concerned or think people should be unless: 1) they were over 70, 2) morbidly obese, 3) were diabetic or 4) had respiratory issues.

Yeah sure. Maybe ask that idiot doc whether the going-on-200,000 dead Americans would agree with his casual attitude toward the pandemic. Or simpler yet, ask the ER and ICU docs working the actual COVID cases.

The ER ICU docs are seeing exactly those patients referenced for being at the greatest risk. With very few exceptions, 90% or greater of this 200k would have died by years end anyway. Read up on the false reporting from the Italians and their global fear pandering. When pressed the source admitted these patients were all on deaths doorstep before covid.

I have yet to meet a dr or experienced nurse who disagrees with this at all. A couple in my family have told me we should be more scared of the FLU. A couple of nurses who work in area hospitals are far more concerned about the increase of medical resources due to rising health issues like drug and alcohol abuse that have resulted from this. The government Dr's are pharma tools. All the Dr's on TV are handpicked by the networks to push the networks agenda and are likely paid. Anyone who does not push the exact message the new outlet wants is silenced.

Look at Michael Levitt who is one of the greatest scientists in the world. he has been completely blackballed for his contrary position.

Another example is Michael Osterholm, he is still getting TV time because he got in line with the Mobs agenda. At the start of May he stated on Meet the Press that 5-15% of the US has had the virus and we'd need to think about how we get to the 60-70% required for herd immunity." That didn't go over well with the MSM mob and they got him in line. He came back on the Meet the Press late July saying "only 7-8% of the US has had COVID, that is it, we have a long way to go to herd immunity and called for a 6-week shutdown." For those math experts out there it appears that in his estimation out total infected rate had increased by -7 to 3% in 3 months where great spread had occurred. Either he has no idea what he is talking about or is lying for his own reasons be they social, financial, whatever. Either way, we should not listen to him. Everyone needs to take the blinders off and stop accepting everything they are told at face value. The media, politicians, and medical experts with Pharm ties have fed us a series of lies that support their own purposes.
