FYI- I went and saw my doctor today in Illinois for my annual check up. I asked him point blank, "How serious is Covid from what you have seen with patients and read?"
He said:
" I have read many articles and follow the JAMA journal closely. Covid 19 is a little more serious than the flu.
In the age group of 0-10, the flu is much more dangerous. In the age group of 25-65, Covid is much more dangerous than the flu, in the age of 65 or higher, covid is a little more dangerous." Keep in mind, I am looking at it relative to the flu.
"If one gets covid, the chances of one dying are slim".
There is was no need to shut down everything. The flu season coming up will be light, because people are social distancing."
I asked him, "will I be in the classroom next fall and back to live teaching?"
He said, "oh yes, definitely, a vaccine will be out for sure by then". "It will be out next spring and will take months to get distributed".
