BTW someone will surely suggest Iron. Do not take Iron unless you are anemic and then only take it in the form recommended by a dr. It will screw up your digestive system and you will start having cramping and diarrhea. Once again something better to come through proper diet and eating it with foods that help with its absorption.
Good advice. Iron especially in males is absorbed and retained. A lot of the elemental iron supps are in the 20+mg which is way too high getting too much iron can cause your hepcidin enzyme to work too hard causing excessive inflammation so then you would have fatigue and soreness, nobody needs especially runners.
Typical day if I have spinach, eggs, chicken, beef, cereals I've more than fulfilled iron requirements. Sometimes if I'm going for a big week I'll have Organic Molasses with oatmeal 4xweek. Maybe get a full panel blood test to check everything?
In the meantime I'd try for that Omnivorous diet. There's a lot of talk about how Heme iron found in animals is so bad but what about all the research showing the phytonutrients in veggies offset any negatives. This probably goes back to biology in that we are Omnivores. Vegans yes. Carnivores yes. Regarding Vitamin D I only run outside in prime sun hours 2-3/days week and my 25hydroxy VitD came back at 56. I wouldn't want any higher like Iron has its own set of problems like calcification, joint pain, osteoblasts from reducing magnesium levels.
