I need some and I haven't been impressed by what I've seen on line. I don't want the boxer brief, I need to low rise brief.

All my running shorts have support built in my friend. What are you wearing? The only reason to wear briefs would be boxer briefs incase you wanted more 'modesty'.

I prefer briefs under tights or tight shorts. It's sanitary and it holds everything in place.
Running tights/tight shorts aren't underwear like Under Armor compression shorts, they are actually pants. Just form fitting pants or shorts. Although I do see people wearing those as shorts... kind of weird, but ok...

I dont find the support to be very supportive. I have to wear something else, otherwise I'm free ballin and getting chaffed horribly.
I have some I purchased from Road Runner Sports.
It's Runderwear, they're really very good.
I've got both the cotton and merino types, not a lot of difference really.
You might consider a minimal athletic supporter (aka "jock strap") if all you are looking for is a little support up front. Optimizes support / coverage for the important bits, minimizes everything else. I've never heard anyone complaining about their ass or legs printing in half tights, just front street. So why bother covering anything else in fabric.

Running shorts come with built in underwear. Do you cut them out? How does that work?
Tights/half-tights are underwear. Again, no "other" underwear required. I do occasionally double up on half tights if I'm going tights only. A rarity at my age (40s) but nonetheless... They do degrade to the point of "can't go solo" in these.

Tights don't really accommodate your junk very well. They usually have a flat front and a seam down the center, and so your junk gets pushed against one leg or the other. Jocks/boxer briefs/briefs have more of a pouch in the front that help keeps your package in place, and they also provide some extra warmth and wind protection in winter. I used to wear running shorts or a jock underneath but got annoyed with chaffage in my groin, same problem with the Runderwear briefs. Now I wear running boxer briefs and they work well. If you search for running underwear there's good reason you'll see almost all boxer briefs and very few regular brief options.

You're wearing shorts that are too big for you. Go to the next smallest size.
