Lots of positive reviews about this show. I was set to try it until I went to order and found it's excluded from all promotions. Is this a £135 ($176) everyday shoe or are there better alternatives?

don't know, but they're very nice looking
It's a very good shoe. A little hot this time of year and it is pretty heavy. I'm getting close to 500 miles on mine and they have lost some rubber but still have pretty decent traction and while not as plush as they used to be they are still pretty easy on the feet. I do have to say that lately I've been grabbing my Endorphin Speeds for my medium long and long runs instead of the 1080s. They are a lot lighter and better ventilated and a lot more fun to run in. They do have a plate though so they aren't the best at real slow recovery type runs.
Very comfortable walking shoe. Didn’t perform as well running. The heel never really felt secure and comfortable. The more conventional 880v10 is a better value. Also, to my surprise, the Endorphin Shift is pretty sweet (responsive cushion) for a better price than the 1080.
Mostly replying to bump and hear more experience than others.
But I will say the 1080 line has been one of my favorites. I've had many pairs from v7 up to v9, with the 9's being my favorite of the bunch.
It is a really expensive shoe, though. So I've only run in old models when they go on sale. The 10's have been out a little while now (came out late last fall?), so maybe we'll see some sales kick in soon.
they're a nice easy day shoe that will last a long time, but they feel a little heavy and soft for picking up the pace. Some shoes feel lighter than their weight. The 1080 feels heavier than it is. But the plusses are that it has bounce, a lot of protection for your legs, and it's gonna last 500 miles easy.

I tied the 1080 for the first time V10.
I don’t find it heavy but it is soft for picking up the pace.
I don’t like the heel, since I started running in it I’ve had minor Achilles issues.

Have close to 600 miles on mine....still going strong. So, I'll say it's worth the price. Love it for anything other than faster efforts - it's a bit too soft for tempos/workouts etc though for me personally. But I think it's just a mental thing since I'm used to more responsive shoes.
I honestly regret buying it and keeping it, instead of buying a cheap pair of Peg 36. While the midsole feels nice and cushy, it’s a bit too soft for faster efforts, and the plastic heel counter hurts my heels. The knit upper also sucks for proper foot lockdown.
I bought them at the beginning of June as I wanted something for my easy days/long runs and they've fit the bill. I have 450km on them so far and I've been impressed at how well they are holding up. I'm guessing I'll be able to hit 1000km on them, before retiring them.
The only downside is I'm not a big fan of the upper. For summer running I find it a little too thick, especially when comparing to the FuelCell Rebel which I was using as my primary shoe beforehand.
Would I buy them again? I'm in Canada and even after a 10% discount at the store, the after tax total was $211 which is pretty rich for my blood. It seems that NB is just now starting to roll out more of their 2020 line-up and I think for the next easy day/long run shoe I want to try the Beacon v3 and see if continues on the v2's trend of being a lightweight daily training that seems to be liked by everyone and at a cheaper price tag than the 1080v10.
