Kate Sperka, NXR Heartland 2nd place and 74th at NXN, to Wisconsin. Solid grab for them. Seems to be building a good class and I expect more recruits to follow.

Genuine question... how can they announce a signing on Insta when the signing period hasn't even started yet? I don' t think you are allowed to announce a verbal.

On the girls side NAU going international with Aussie Nikita Moore, 80th at world cross would have been 6th on the American team behind OSU recruit Ping, and Arkansas recruit Nielson.
Boys Jack Scherer 9:12 for 4rth at dessert dream, Cael Grotenhuis ran 9:17 3200 indoor, and Hobbs Kessler who ran a 4:21 indoor 1600 in 2020.
Gabe Montague to Furman.

Remember when top distance athletes went to Berkley? Does this mean that they've abandoned the distances or have top athletes finally figured out that place is a dead end?
It is Oct.11, and Cal is still showing their cross country roster from 2019. Football and basketball updated many months in advance. Apparently not only do the people updating the website not care, but the coaches and team members haven't asked for an update either.
https://calbears.com/sports/cross-country/rosterNo, that is not the major reason top recruits don't go there, but it certainly doesn't help making potential big-time recruits think that this is a big time program with lots of backing behind it. For some recruits, that is going to be their very first exposure to Cal XC. It is not making a good impression.

The reason why the 2019 XC roster and schedule is still showing could be because the season was pushed back because of COVID.
There are other schools that are still showing the XC roster from 2019.
Some top recruits go there. They just don't get any faster.

As mentioned in the post, other teams on the Cal website that had their season pushed back have an updated roster. And their major competition in XC for big recruits like Stanford, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, NAU and even Cal Poly for in state recruits have all updated.
They should be at the same level as the schools they are competing against, assuming they want to compete at that level.

Oak Mountain from Alabama? Kinda odd to go somewhere in Utah. Good for USU though.
