You didn't say Americans and Jack the Ripper is the all-time most infamous in the English-speaking world. And maybe he was an American. And to top it off, he got away with it.

I feel like the four most famous are Bundy, Dahmer, Gacy, and the Zodiac Killer. But what would a Zodiac carving look like, is an issue.
wouldn't it be nice if there were pokemon cards but for serial killers? with ratings for different atributes where you'd have to think how to beat the other guy's monster. they could even stream it online
jimmy throws a silva on luke's gein!! what a move! will luke have to use his garavito alrrady just to stay in the game? it's only 2 minutes into the match! now that's tension, folks!

Bundy
Rader (BTK) - why no one mention that scumbag?
DeAngelo (Golden State) - relative new comer
Son of Sam (Berk)
Zodiac
I'm still surprised DeAngelo was caught after having the case go cold for so many years.
Zodiac
Bundy
Gacy
Wayne Williams is one that hasn't been mentioned yet (don't think he was guilty of all of the Atlanta Child Murders though)
There has been some big time mentioned already. My only problem with Dahmer and Gacy is they were too creepy. Gacy with the clown suit and Dahmer keeping body parts in fridge and the eating of the body is a little too disgusting.
Bundy, Ridgway & Radar were probably the most dangerous since they somewhat fit into society. Son of Sam , Richard Ramirez and the LA Stranglers kept whole cities in fear for sometime but not as long as others.
The Iceman mostly killed for the mob so most of his numbers are professional hits.
You might find this interesting. Here are the worst serial killers in US history, ranked ...

How about the Hansen dude on that list.? Kidnapped prostitutes and set them free in the Alaska wilderness so he could hunt them. He might be be a bit more twisted than the other psychopaths.
Is this thread some kind of twisted joke that I don't get?
Jack the ripper
Zodiac
Son of Sam
BTK

Ridgway doesn’t have the name recognition of some of the others, but if you consider his ability to kill numerous victims over 2 decades while fitting in pretty well in society, I think he has an argument for the G.O.A.T.
Heh.
Ridgway doesn't have name recognition? Try this: Green River Killer
I didn't know Ridgway's name but definitely Green River Killer.
Can we give an honorable mention to Aileen Wuornos?

I don't know how the previous poster didn't know the GRK. He has the most confirmed victims.
Wuornos is every man's ex-wife, but doesn't rank in the top tier of serial killers.
Most of the Iceman's self confessed victims were not mob hits. He prowled the West and East Side highway and killed random people on his own for fun. My father worked along the Gowanus in the 80s and said the cops found a bunch of bodies in the water way back then. Maybe some of those were Iceman vics. Anyway they're unconfirmed and he's likely embellishing. The greatest serial killer in American history is probably some Blood Meridian 'Judge' type. No policing or much investigation back then.

Malmo, nobody who has posted to this thread has said they didn’t know the Green River Killer. I said he doesn’t have the same name recognition of some others including Dahmer, Gacy and Bundy and I maintain that to be true. I got on a morbid kick a couple years ago where I watched serial killer documentaries on YouTube every night, including at least 2 on the GRK.
I wish there were an easy and reliable way to measure name-recognition or popularity. I almost got into a heated argument with my roommate/ex-gf the other day trying to convince her that Bo Diddly has more name recognition than Sister Rosetta Tharpe.
Still a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest, lie-la-lie.
I'd include two or three mass shooters, such as:
Andrew Kehoe (Bath School Disaster, killed 45)
Anders Breivik (killed 77)
Stephen Paddock (Las Vegas, killed 59)

Andrew Kehoe did not use a gun.

You sure you aren't on it?
Bundy & Gacy are shoe-ins just for their Chutzpa. Here's a couple more All-American beautes:
Dr. Michael "American Express" Swango
Herb "Hoosier" Baumeister
How about Joel Rifkin. Believed to have killed 17. Seinfield had an episode where Elaine was dating a guy with the same name.
Jack the Ripper
Dahmer
Gacy
Bundy
